Anyone any ideas what might happen to the pound if we exit?

I mean "my" not "him"!

I think if we exit pound will plummet. Markets will be nervous and there will be a lot of uncertainty about what will happen - and uncertainty is never good for currency strength.

onlyconnect · 16/06/2016 19:21

I thought that likely too. Might buy Euros tomorrow then.

I would, i bought last week, as it will be a while recovering if it does go down, just hedging my bets.

PattyPenguin · 16/06/2016 21:48

Will be getting mine Saturday. The serious papers seem to think it's a good idea.

annielostit · 16/06/2016 21:58

I got some today, reports say it might drop for a week or so then come back up. It dropped 5c from last week.

This link follows the spot rate that you get when you pay on a cc abroad. ( What Halifax clarity use)
the euro was just above 1.25 today but Ramsden's was giving only £1.229.

I was wondering about this the other day as we go to Italy in August. I am worried that my lovely pounds won't be worth as much.
I may buy mine before the 23rd.

CountryLovingGirl · 17/06/2016 21:31

I guess it could go the other way if the majority vote STAY?

QueenLaBeefah · 17/06/2016 21:31

We bought ours last week. We are going on holiday in the 26th June which is a bit scary.

Shakey15000 · 17/06/2016 22:50

We go away mid July and have hedged some bets by buying half now, and holding half back to see what happens after the vote. We got E 1.24 rate.

HyacinthBouquetNo1 · 21/06/2016 16:22

I have just bought some today, we are going in 10 days. I spent half of our money now and will get the other half over there if needed, whatever the rate. I also got 1.24 today, not sure what will happen after Thursday
