Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

NEW Link to the Daily Mail article of 20 May 2016 regarding an ex-bot's treatment at the hands of her 'spline' at Forever Living UK

NEW Link to NastashaBarnbotShingles' refutation of the above.

We have our own regularly returning bots to tell us how bullying and hateful we are.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Twunk (AKA ForeverYazoonique) has a bottle of Banana Yazoo in her fridge. She's still too afraid to drink it. Yahoo is important as seems to be the primary retail product for Life Tree World.

Be careful what you wish for, eh? I have been lurking on here thinking how glad I was I didn't have any friends who were bots and I've just been added to a group by a (not very close) friend selling Nu Skin products. Not heard of it before but she's posted this. dont know if I'm brave enough to post a link to 'your family and friends are worried about you' on the group itself. It's one thing to read on here about it and find it fascinating and another to shatter someone's dreams in real life isn't it :(

I don't think it's 'shattering dreams' in that way, Wing. If you link at an early stage, you're helping people before problems crowd them. Even if it's only one person.

Deerking · 12/06/2016 19:25

Thanks Cozie, but it could be worse I suppose - I could be a bot!

DollyTwat · 12/06/2016 19:55

Seems to be a lot of unrest in the FL camp this weekend. Evidence of a sapphire manager putting her orders through someone else and bullying. Makes for shocking reading. If it was a normal workplace it would be dealt with under employment law

Sorry I can't put screenshots as too identifying

Toobusytowee · 12/06/2016 19:58

Olafiskin, there may well be free wraps on offer, this is a common thing. The rep will have had to buy them out of their own pocket in an attempt to gain more customers. They will be having to spend a certain amount to be eligible for their bonuses.
By taking their free products, you will be giving them false hope of a sale. If you actually buy their products, you will be encouraging them to carry on for longer. By that I mean pouring their money into Jamberry and pinning all their hopes and dreams of being able to make some money in the scheme. Unfortunately they won't be making any money. This is because 99% of people in MLMs earn such tiny amounts of money, many even losing money. Don't encourage them to continue in this farce for a minute longer than necessary.

If you like nail wraps you can apparently buy really good quality ones at much much cheaper prices online.

Have a look at the MLM bingo post on BotWatchBlog before you go to the 'party' and see how many of the items you hear at the event. I don't think you will be disappointed. If you read what the truth is behind these things, you may be able to protect yourself from being sucked into the whole thing.

Good luck.

DollyTwat · 12/06/2016 19:59

One of the main themes that the bots have realised is that it just the top bot's making money, then bullying their teams to make up the cc's for their bonuses. I think the penny has dropped that no one is taking the place of those top bots, they'll never achieve those positions because they're taken

There was evidence of an upline paying off a bot to resign so that the upline could have their downline, as she'd identified this person as someone who would bring in the cash. They paid £400 I think for them to resign

cozietoesie · 12/06/2016 20:06

Yes, Toobusy. The 'false hope' thing can be a damaging contributory factor.

Seenthelight21 · 12/06/2016 20:13

Dolly
I'm not surprised at all
That came out a while back about that particular sapphire manager didn't it as a whistle-blower forwarded stuff to TV

Shocking!!!! I'm glad people are waking up to the reality I of the stuff that goes on in FLP and the lengths you have to go to to achieve 'success'

DollyTwat · 12/06/2016 20:16

Seen it does appear that FL are really bad for this, some of the bots have left to join other MLM's and aren't seeing the same level of vitriol that they get in FL

It is the same manager that was exposed on TV but it all seems to have kicked off again this weekend for some reason. Maybe someone in the know can shed some light?

EauDeParslaii · 12/06/2016 20:16

One of those viral FB photos that has 000s of likes, thought I would leave that here Wink
Deerking welcome - sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Us chronic illness types are bot-magnets it would seem! Sad x

Spongebobette · 12/06/2016 20:32

If it's the topbot I'm thinking of, I think it's awful that she dragged her poor kids along to an 'success event' or training event or whatever they call them, and paraded them on stage. Shame on her.

DollyTwat · 12/06/2016 20:48

I think it's the one who was at a training thing this weekend along with her boyfriend with a massive forehead

DollyTwat · 12/06/2016 20:50

Sorry *intergalactic world renowned mind training guru (with a massive forehead)

Spongebobette · 12/06/2016 21:10

Oh yeah have just seen one of his slides from the event,' 3 reasons why ppl fail to achieve their goals' ; 1. no control over their thoughts 2. They haven't imprinted their vision 3, they don't have the necessary habits in place

FFS what utter utter tripe. People have presumably parted with money to be told this amaaazing stuff.

Also, attendees were treated to inspirational quotes from people such as Ghandi, Oprah, Eisenhower and even Goethe. I'm not sure an 18th century polymath would have appreciated being included in such a transparent piece of chicanery

Seenthelight21 · 12/06/2016 21:18

Yep could be the Top bot
There is a young sapphire manager (without giving too much away) that did the same and was also outed on TV

Seenthelight21 · 12/06/2016 21:19

If you send me screenshots Dolly Privatley I can work it out! As I'm no longer on any FLP pages

cozietoesie · 12/06/2016 21:21

Goodness. Quoting Goethe is travelling into dangerous territory! Grin

EauDeParslaii · 12/06/2016 21:26

see I know exactly which one you are talking about (21:18 post second sentence). I am aware of the practices carried out, I also informed TV. x

rayofhope · 13/06/2016 06:26

I've watched the same young sapphire trying to recruit on baby fb pages. How they work from home, living the dream around their children. People asking for more info, of course then saying 'I'll pm you'. Admin stepped in and told her to stop or she'd be removed. She then played the innocent card of not realising she couldn't promote mlm on the page.

Spongebobette · 13/06/2016 06:46

Ray is this young Sapphire the one who has her wedding invitations all over her FB page?

honeysucklejasmine · 13/06/2016 07:05

I've been invited to a jamberry party. The host is not the rep, it's a friend of a friend. I immediately warned my friend not to get involved, as she's saying how good they are and what good value it is. I referred her to TV, she said it "didn't seem that bad really" as you "only" need £600 sales to stay active.

I don't think my friend will get involved (I threatened to confiscate her bank cards), but I can't go to this party. I just can't.

cozietoesie · 13/06/2016 08:08

Apart from anything else, there are some MLMs that - for a variety of reasons - look to have a much shorter lifespan than others, in my view. (The 'undiversified ones' perhaps.) I wouldn't be in the least surprised if they became - in fairly short order - 'divisions' of more established MLMs, say.

cozietoesie · 13/06/2016 10:20

I've noticed that representatives of a certain MLM appear to have been knocked back from 'utilising' certain 'motivational videos' to carry links to their product.

romoca · 13/06/2016 10:40

Hmmm not sure here.... I'm actually still a member of one of the pro networkers page on fb, there is a post from a young lass I keep thinking about... She is distraught she has never hit 4cc or had any luck with recruitment she sounds quite glum, the "team" have responded with lots of " your mindset is off" " same happens to me then it happened overnight " " keep plugging away" "watch training videos"...............and this lass thinks the "team" are so supportive!!! I wonder if I should message her but wouldn't know what's to say!!!!

cozietoesie · 13/06/2016 10:43

So she's getting the 'If you don't make it work, it's your fault' message given to her?
