Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

NEW Link to the Daily Mail article of 20 May 2016 regarding an ex-bot's treatment at the hands of her 'spline' at Forever Living UK

NEW Link to NastashaBarnbotShingles' refutation of the above.

We have our own regularly returning bots to tell us how bullying and hateful we are.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Twunk (AKA ForeverYazoonique) has a bottle of Banana Yazoo in her fridge. She's still too afraid to drink it. Yahoo is important as seems to be the primary retail product for Life Tree World.

Thanks

No plans to sign up or order. Just hate that a lot of my friends who are doing it are vulnerable new mums signed up by a supposed friend

Toobusytowee · 06/06/2016 19:14

Have a look at this Actiderm product. acti-labs.com/me/labs/slimming-inch-loss/lipo-sculpting-fluid-(150ml) . If you have even a rudimentary understanding of the human body, that page may make you twitch with all the pseudo science bollockyness. In my opinion.

DebbieDallas · 06/06/2016 19:28

Can any of the FL escapees provide some knowledge please. One of my friends who has stuck with FL for 2 years and is getting worryingly ruthless in her cc quest seems to be about to make manager. Will this be the point she finally makes some money or is it about to go Pete Tong?

Kanga59 · 06/06/2016 19:44

Did I miss a Barnbot return?

I have my first FL Bot! Finally.

She's typical fodder. Single parent, low income, disabled child, dodgy moral compass (eg when she did my pedi a few months ago she was telling me about her cash in hand to swindle tax credits - wtaf)

She also put on two sachets of on my foot as part of the pedi. I thought I'd just let it go and then at the end of the pedi she said "I'll just leave these here" in reference to the packets (small free sample sizes) which I promptly put in the bin.

She has just asked on facebook, very generically, so who wants to do a cleanse with me and aim to lose 9lbs. Notably she hasn't mentioned the £90 gloop price tag.

She can ill afford to get sucked into this nonsense.

smiinky · 06/06/2016 19:57

DebbieDallas an ex FL manager came forward to Timeless Vie and provided her pay slips. They averaged at £400 a month. The most she made was around £650. This is not net pay and she had to work more than full time. So I'd say, 'nope' . Manager, apparently is where the proper tragicomic cultic behaviour comes in, with all of the pressure. It just all seems so exhausting to me. And for so little reward.

cozietoesie · 06/06/2016 20:01

Some adherents - a very very few - may well make $$$$. Don't forget where they came from though.

gottaloveascamhun · 06/06/2016 20:54

My bot this evening: love this company and the rewards it brings. So you know someone who wants to earn an extra 200 a month...etc
So it's not your own business then is it?!!! Rarrrgh!

gottaloveascamhun · 06/06/2016 20:59

DebbieDallas a couple of ex bots on timeless vie have said that's when the pressure really starts, hitting manager, and the hitching and backstabbing kicks in. Doesn't sound good. Reading Merchants of Deception the same thing happened eg he was striving for manager but the goalposts moved and he had to work more hours, was massively in debt, everyone else who was manager pretended they were earning loads but too scared to say it was all a front and in fact they had remortgaged or taken loans, sold house etc to fund the MLM lifestyle of fake it til you make it.

Seenthelight21 · 06/06/2016 23:13

Just read that link Darcey!!!
Oh my God
Has that been on Timeless Vie yet!?
If not it needs to be

Debbie
I'm an Ex manager
This was where I thought I had made it to be honest as I Was able to now qualify for the holidays and car plan etc which I never did!!!!
I started off on £2000 a month but working every hour God sent
Funny part time job!
Mine dwindled along with my team to £900 a month but I was having to spend between £350 and £600 a month towards my ccs!!! Some months were better than others if people joined me but it was really tough I found!
Definetly more pressure and expectation at manager level!!!!

Seenthelight21 · 06/06/2016 23:14

Oh and plus all my expenses too

Training days
Success days
Room hire
Team incentives
Petrol
Other business expenses such as leaflets promotional stuff
Books and mindset training!!!!!

cozietoesie · 07/06/2016 05:32

Follow the money. Smile

DebbieDallas · 07/06/2016 06:00

I think you might have said that before cozie.

DebbieDallas · 07/06/2016 06:02

Thanks seenthelight and others for your experiences, it's what I feared sadly. She's in so deep already and looks like it's going to get worse. Sad

cozietoesie · 07/06/2016 06:26

Is she still really a friend?

cozietoesie · 07/06/2016 06:33

I see that Timeless Vie have been working away. Smile People may wish to read the new piece on Guilt Tripping.

Ladiva1971 · 07/06/2016 07:34

My FL Bot has just announced the arrival of a shaving foam, she has ordered one for herself and 1 for her partner as well as an aftershave £15 each for the gel!!!!! and £12 for the after shave, totally bonkers!

CarlGrimesMissingEye · 07/06/2016 08:28

Hi. I'm new. Someone who I thought brighter, wiser and more intelligent has decided to sell something called Nu Skin and has started with the motivational emails and posts. Ugh. Can I join in now I've found you?

TiddlesUpATree · 07/06/2016 10:19

Just had a bot on my FB page saying she was so happy for get FL friend who had been in the phone literally weeping when she got her pay slip. Tears of joy.

Anyone have any experience of tropic? Friend has started with them and have seen a few bits on FB lately. Have been hoping it's not as bad as some of the others.

cozietoesie · 07/06/2016 12:06

Welcome, Carl. Smile

cozietoesie · 07/06/2016 12:10

PS - and, sadly, there's no-one, however 'bright, intelligent etc' who is immune to MLM blandishments if they're caught at the 'right' time and by the 'right' person. Some people will naturally be more difficult to inculcate than others - but no-one is actually immune.

cozietoesie · 07/06/2016 12:28

I have a memory that many firms have been encountered on these threads, Tiddles.

CarlGrimesMissingEye · 07/06/2016 13:20

There's the voice of experience Cozi Grin. Thanks for the welcome. She's not bothered asking me to buy anything just gone straight to asking if I know anyone looking for work. It beggars belief.

But then I skim read the last couple of threads and perhaps should t be surprised!

cozietoesie · 07/06/2016 14:11

Probably not. Different people will have different methods of recruitment, different uplines, different everything pretty well - which will impact on their 'styles' even though they may be given much the same scripts to use. Sadly - to those who cared about them - they'll still nearly all fail.

cozietoesie · 07/06/2016 14:13

This BotWatch piece may be of interest to you. (And to others reading the thread.)

Bovneydazzlers · 07/06/2016 14:51

Not an MLM (I don't think) but the same anti-cancer quackery...
