Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

NEW Link to the Daily Mail article of 20 May 2016 regarding an ex-bot's treatment at the hands of her 'spline' at Forever Living UK

NEW Link to NastashaBarnbotShingles' refutation of the above.

We have our own regularly returning bots to tell us how bullying and hateful we are.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Twunk (AKA ForeverYazoonique) has a bottle of Banana Yazoo in her fridge. She's still too afraid to drink it. Yahoo is important as seems to be the primary retail product for Life Tree World.

www.theguardian/science/2016/jan/24/health-food-immune-system-colds-vitamins

This is a link to a good article about our immune systems. Reaffirming what we know - it's not a good idea to boost your immune system as it will make you feel ill !!

As you read through the article can you spot the tactics employed by Forever Living et al?

Ladiva1971 · 03/06/2016 17:26

That link wont work for me but been looking at Treelife world!!! I can't how people fall for these things.

cozietoesie · 03/06/2016 18:02

I see that Timeless Vie likes continue to rise steadily. Smile

Also that they're showcasing people who are running small real businesses.

Bovneydazzlers · 03/06/2016 18:06

Oh yeah LTW...

May has come and gone, where is the 19,000 extra products (including fresh and frozen) promised?

ForeverYazoonique · 03/06/2016 18:11

Maybe there are 19,000 flavours of Yazoo?!

cozietoesie · 03/06/2016 18:14

I'm glad you posted, Forever. I was concerned about your safety! Grin

darceybussell · 03/06/2016 18:19

One of my Arbonne bots was so certain she was going to qualify for the free Bahamas holiday, but the qualification date has been and gone and she's not mentioned it. She paid about £35 to register for the opportunity to possibly maybe qualify. I wonder if all the lost £35s from people who don't make it covers the cost for the people who do qualify?

Ladiva1971 · 03/06/2016 18:34

When you say opportunity to qualify, does the £35 just basically buy a raffle ticket that gets thrown into a hat to be drawn after 5000 tickets are sold? making £175,000? Maybe just a thought that crossed my mind.

darceybussell · 03/06/2016 18:49

Yes sort of, but you don't get an equal chance to win, you have to 'sell' over a certain amount and promote people under you to qualify. It's like the world's most unfair rigged shit raffle!

Yes I wonder how many people paid the £35, they probably made a killing!

cozietoesie · 03/06/2016 18:49

I think that one just needs to remember that whatever happens on a daily basis, it's not the MLM that's going to lose out.

ForeverYazoonique · 03/06/2016 18:53

Bloody hell! A rigged incentive that you have to pay an upfront fee to qualify for a chance? Fuck me these MLMs are evil geniuses.

I wouldn't pay that much to enter a lottery to win a holiday, let alone a work jolly.

In addition to my FL bot, I have a Weleda bot. Now, I know they are supposed to be all super ethical and the like, but thoughts on this post, please. No pressure to recruit yet she's asking to get in touch if you want to know more. Are they indeed MLM in disguise?

Ladiva1971 · 03/06/2016 19:02

HAHA Forever I only do the Euromillions when the prize is about £90m and even then I will not spend more than £10. One thing that does make me laugh is the stay at home and spend more time with the family crap, TBH I beg for overtime at work to A. Get away from the kids that don't bloody stop bickering, B. To get away from the shit TV Hubby wants to watch. C. Having to cook, clean and tidy up after everyone, when no one will do anything for me. Maybe in my next life I will be born with a penis and not breasts... Smile

Ladiva1971 · 03/06/2016 19:14

Absolutely orangefizzypop75 The words Nurturing company, No pressure and Team should give it away...Grin

cozietoesie · 03/06/2016 19:15

People become passionate about what they do. It's 'affirming' to have others join in.

orangefizzypop75 · 03/06/2016 19:17

It's what I thought all along Ladiva - her friend does Neals' Yard (say no more). They do lots of "pamper parties" together. All very nauseating and rainbow vomit inducing.

cozietoesie · 03/06/2016 19:24

Keep clear in your mind the difference between multi level marketing and direct marketing. You may believe that the goods sold by the latter method are .........not to your taste..... but it's a selling method.

orangefizzypop75 · 03/06/2016 19:28

Neals' are MLM aren't they Cozie? I read the TV post regarding the lady that forked up £400 after being mislead?

cozietoesie · 03/06/2016 19:31

I'm suggesting only that you bear the difference in mind.

orangefizzypop75 · 03/06/2016 19:38

Noted cozie - personally, I avoid anything that requires me to go to a "party" and listen to insanely dull sales patter ;)

cozietoesie · 03/06/2016 19:54

People might like to re-read BotWatch as well as Timeless Vie. This link is taken from there.

Ladiva1971 · 03/06/2016 19:56

My FL Bot has pics on FB of her 1 year old child With Quotes saying OH XXXX Loves packaging orders, XXXX Loves company meetings with Mummy, XXXX has shat on the carpet so I better use my £35 bottle of Aloe detergent to clean up the shit, [see before and after pics] instead of good old fashioned water and soap. As for the prosecco pics??? A bottle of prosecco is £4.99 if these people are really successful why not drink champagne??

Booksandcrocheting · 03/06/2016 20:13

Weleda doesnt look like an mlm according to their webpage only head office recruits and the number of wellbeing advisors per area is limited

orangefizzypop75 · 03/06/2016 20:18

I've read that too books but Weleda lady doesn't live very far from me and most of her page likers are also very local so scratching my head a bit as to why she is now posting about recruiting. Will keep an eye on developments and see what happens. Needless to say no one has commented, liked or even queried the post - I would say because people possibly had the same initial thought as me - MLM = steer clear.

cozietoesie · 03/06/2016 20:28

What was it that Cromwell (allegedly) said?

'Trust in God and keep your powder dry.' Wink
