£80 for a mop??

Twunk · 03/05/2016 00:13

You could have a point Cozie but the more people invested the more any dissenting voice is suppressed. We even see it in Facebook groups and pages - any negativity, any questioning and it's removed.

If you've sunk your belief and money into something, convinced others of it, well you need to save face.

That's true. I just have an instinct that it won't be as plain sailing as some of the MLMs may think - in the medium to longer term anyway.

cozietoesie · 03/05/2016 00:23

And I'm trying to imagine who - in their wildest moments - would pay that price for a mop!

Toobusytowee · 03/05/2016 00:24

MissRabbit, I remember someone mentioning Norwex here before. They come to your house for a party and take everyone to your bathroom. Then they drain your loo of water and clean it. All very odd.

cozietoesie · 03/05/2016 00:30

They should post on AIBU. Someone is bound to disagree - passionately - with their method of toilet cleaning! Grin

Toobusytowee · 03/05/2016 00:45

I was thinking about mumsnet toilet cleaning threads this morning. They claim you can just put toilet cleaner on poo stains and they just go away, you don't need a brush. I tried it this morning with a very fresh sample from my daughter. Didn't work.

MissRabbitHasTooManyJobs · 03/05/2016 01:07

Yep £80 and that's a standard one! I will dig out the prices tomorrow as the stuff is so ridiculously overpriced.
Around £18 for bathroom cleaner that's the size of a bottle of perfume and washing powder around the same price and only need a teaspoon worth in the wash Confused
I feel so stupid. I've got the products and there was no initial outlay but looking into the small print I will have to pay around £200 as I haven't sold x amount ( haven't even tried to! ) so embarrassing expecting friends and family to buy into this.
They basically say that one cloth does everything without needing a single cleaning product in your home, cloth is about £20!
Who are these people targeting?

gottaloveascamhun · 03/05/2016 06:34

Don't feel stupid Miss Rabbit x

Oh and "ultimate sales funnel" would that be an upside down pyramid perchance?

camels - wondering how well it will go down in your part of the world if/ when they realise that a large % of money made by these MLMs is flowing straight to the Mormon church?

throwingpebbles · 03/05/2016 07:41

Haha yeah camels my feed is starting look like that too!

xenu1 · 03/05/2016 08:52

missrabbit great info, many thx. A fave quote from the entertaininh Baffler article on MLM/Amway thebaffler.com/salvos/dreams-incorporated#r_fn10 is
"multilevels offer one or two miracle products, such as nutritional supplements like bluegreen algae or “minerals in colloidal suspension,” etc., about which wild claims can be made with impunity. Such products defy conventional sales methods, usually because they require some sort of conversion experience on the part of the customer or elaborate person-to-person instruction. "
Your experience sounds similar :)

Nolongerconfused · 03/05/2016 08:57

Melaw - hope to see you on here again in the future.

Missrabbit - how long is it since you signed up? Is there any return policy?

cozietoesie · 03/05/2016 09:46

Don't feel stupid or embarrassed, MissRabbit. You've been staying alert and thoughtful which is a great thing. Smile

LMGTFY · 03/05/2016 09:51

toobusy would I be OK to use your post as a comment when ltw folk post on fb?

CamelsAndMaus · 03/05/2016 09:58

I'm not entirely sure throwing but I'm hoping to get some more insight next week. I suspect a lot of the expats caught up in this would actually think that's a good thing as they're hugely religious; although I'm sure the majority of them would prefer it was flowing to the Vatican instead. I'm trying to get a feel for how many locals are caught up in this.

lifestyleasia.com.news-articles.tv/dawn-zulueta-flawless-skin/

I have absolutely no idea who Dawn Zulueta is but she is clogging up my FB.

cozietoesie · 03/05/2016 10:59

A very prominent actress and media personality who seems to undertake a fair number of endorsements - as many people do of course. Smile

Toobusytowee · 03/05/2016 11:45

LMGTFY, Yes, anything I put here is public. I'm happy for it to be spread about. I'll do a blog post on it once I understand the compensation plan. It keeps changing and the official website currently has no explanation of it at all. I suspect it is being watered down again.

Toobusytowee · 03/05/2016 12:47

Please can someone remind me of the percentages of people who earn big cheques in FL? I remember it had a lot of 00s in, after the decimal point.

MissRabbitHasTooManyJobs · 03/05/2016 12:59

Thanks v much for kind comments!

It was a couple of months ago when I was actually very low and so probably vulnerable Confused

I've definitely breached the terms so will be liable to pay.
I love cleaning and am willing to pay extra for certain things but wouldn't buy a single thing from these.

Am glad I got out before I got in if that makes any sense, looking back I was rushed into it and possibly hounded, it was a hard time for me.
Have also been targeted on fb by a FL bot, they don't seem to take no for an answer! Leave me alone Grin
