Becky I am speechless. Nothing like oodles of emotional blackmail eh Shock

Delurker2016 · 02/05/2016 10:49

Have I missed the Daily Fail article??

Motorheadmum · 02/05/2016 10:51

Morning all! Just catching up as I've been busy!

I saw LTW posting and it seems worse than I thought. It is loads better to do your normal supermarket shop and get the loyalty points. I don't buy many branded goods at all now and I'm sure most people don't.

I noticed there are a few saying that people are being unreasonable with the criticism of the MLM's and they aren't that bad. well I am happy to share my story again and I'm sure that maybe that would change a few people's ideas of exactly how a lot of the up lines really operate.

cozietoesie · 02/05/2016 10:57

'Things' may change a lot but people change remarkably little. You all might be interested to look up the story of the South Sea Bubble. When was that? Beginning of the Eighteenth century?

TwatbadgingCuntfuckery · 02/05/2016 11:00

Delurker2016 there have been several over the last couple of months using very personal mumsnet posts as articles. Also posts quoted on certain TV shows. Bound to happen tbh, It wasn't related to this thread though but others.

Nolongerconfused · 02/05/2016 11:18

I'm really angry after reading that Younique post!! AngryAngry
I actually have no words about it.

CamelsAndMaus · 02/05/2016 11:19

No worries twunk I have a premmie who nearly died when he was 5 weeks old and since i've been looking into it; I've seen claims that various MLM products can prevent it. NOT.

Toobusytowee · 02/05/2016 11:32

Bot Watchers from here and FB have collected an amazing collection of health claims from Forever Living. The file is 80 claims big and has been sent to the ASA and DSA. There are some claims in there that people should be utterly ashamed of. Watch this space.

BeckyWithTheHair · 02/05/2016 11:44

Is it even true nolonger? I have no idea! Very interesting toobusy. Watching closely!

Nolongerconfused · 02/05/2016 11:55

I don't know Becky I don't know much about Younique other than they make eyelashes look like spiders legs. It maddens me to think she's using childhood abuse and pyramid scheme in the same sentence!

Toobusytowee · 02/05/2016 12:07

Someone looked into that Younique charity many threads back. I don't think they were able to find out much. It certainly wasn't an easily accessible retreat for victims to find and use.

BeckyWithTheHair · 02/05/2016 12:21

Wow. I know, I know! They're brainwashed!

Roundles · 02/05/2016 12:41

And also (yes I'm still reeling) your not being paid to go your monthly shop, your being refunded monies if you plus three people buy a basket of excess stock, wildly overpriced for what it is (where's the huge savings?) and you still need to go shopping for the stuff you actually need!!! Plus you make £35 from the £200 - the £165, but how much did you pay to sign up? Oh, £35!!!

cozietoesie · 02/05/2016 12:50

Always Follow The Money - at both corporate and individual level. There are plenty of practices which are also quite revealing but if you satisfy yourself as to 'How the cash comes in and How the cash goes out' there's a certain stark reality about it.

Money doesn't breed spontaneously overnight because of moonlight and fairy kisses. Neither does it suddenly evaporate 'Poof' when some daylight hits it. It flows. Smile

MLMs need to try to keep their schemes 'ticking over' in established markets because it could be very bad news indeed to just abandon such a market - PR in the less developed markets would be horrible, the world being a small place these days.

Nolongerconfused · 02/05/2016 13:15

Haha that video! Full of contradictions.
Are any of you on periscope? It's a good place to hear bots "trainings" live. I know some of the big names used it.

Early on in this thread might be a good time, by the way, for someone to re-post the topic-specific MNHQ guidelines about what we may or may not post. I'm sure that we wouldn't want anyone to be in any doubt about it. Smile

Nolongerconfused · 02/05/2016 13:31

Are we not allowed to post public youtube videos?

throwingpebbles · 02/05/2016 13:48

Best bet is to pm them to www.facebook.com/liestopper or www.facebook.com/timelessvie then they can be downloaded and saved as evidence before forever living remove them Wink

Nolongerconfused · 02/05/2016 14:08

I don't want to pm anything from my FB but I will email them. That one is pretty old you have likely seen it before

cozietoesie · 02/05/2016 14:33

I can't honestly remember the precise details, it being a number of threads back. That's why I thought it might be a good idea. Smile

Twunk · 02/05/2016 15:28

Is it an MNHQ post, Cozie?
