No idea Melaw - i'm interested to see how they do it though. Maybe there'll be some very pissed off PO workers, side stepping their way around rotting piles of veg and dairy in the weeks to come.

throwingpebbles · 01/05/2016 22:42

delurker yes we shouldn't be surprised that there was a bit of a knee jerk invasion after your revelations Wink
Obviously not including the somewhat unconvincing balancedbot in that, as obviously they come across as someone who is just genuinely seeking advice on whether they should join an MLM Wink

darceybussell · 01/05/2016 22:44

'I really don't understand the logic behind the LTW MLM concept - why would anyone purchase overpriced items that they can purchase much cheaper at a supermarket AND without the hassle of waiting for delivery?!'

Yes exactly, they wouldn't. They are doing it to invest, in the false expectation of future reward.

LifeTreeWorld · 01/05/2016 22:44

Yeah that was me, continually failing at my name change attempts Hmm

Twunk · 01/05/2016 22:45

Oh dear LTW Grin

Nolongerconfused · 01/05/2016 22:46

Tojoin I'm sure your new bestie has a garage full of the crap sorry I mean tan. Soon you will soon! Night nite!

LifeTreeWorld · 01/05/2016 22:47

I have already read reports where people have ordered from LTW, money has been taken, but goods have not been received. That simply wouldn't happen with a regular supermarket, no matter how to try to spin it

You are joking surely? I have read bloody loads of threads on MN where supermarket deliveries don't appear or are cancelled, then they're told their money will be back within 7-10 days and the like.

I've heard on plenty of late deliveries in the past couple of weeks, with people being compensated with vouchers. Problems with their delivery company etc. Not heard of one non-delivery though.

Twunk · 01/05/2016 22:48

I'm at my parents right now and my dad asked "what's this Tiimeless thing I keep seeing?" So I started explaining about MLMs and after about 30 seconds said "oh yes those are pyramid schemes aren't they? Someone tried to get us into one in the 1980s, I told them it was clearly a pyramid scheme and I wasn't interested"

We worked out it must've been Amway.

throwingpebbles · 01/05/2016 22:48

I'm totally a sympathetic to the ex-bots of Forever etc as these are highly sophisticated scams with a lot of corporate bullshit branding and a long history of scamming people and their "persuasion" techniques are v refined

but I just really feel quite astounded that there are people in this country who are so gullible they are signing up to lifetreeworld . The posters and site look like something dreamt up rather half heartedly by an 8 year old for starters. And then there's the tragicomic "hampers" full of the usual poundland offerings.....

I'm going to start a campaign to round up all LTW bots and make them repeat the last 10 years of schooling.

throwingpebbles · 01/05/2016 22:50

Had a similar conversation with an Uncle Twunk except they did get sucked in to Amway for a bit, and the pain and despair at the sight of his sister now making the same mistake (with Forever Living) was heart breaking

Roundles · 01/05/2016 22:50

But you won't always get your £200 pcm, only if the six below you keep paying in minimum spend a month, PLUS only if you do too... And your six need their six to keep spending minimum and still no one has any fresh fruit! So you all pay £165 a month to get your £200 back plus probably spend £10 a week on bread milk and fruit so your all earning.... -£5

Twunk · 01/05/2016 22:52

We have seen photos LTW bots have taken of their shopping - it's hilarious! Bottles of yazoo (yes really) and mountains of other food they'll never get through. I haven't got room in my kitchen for all that shit I'm not going to eat.

It's bonkers!

cozietoesie · 01/05/2016 22:52

I always try to use the maxim 'Follow The Money'. If I were reviewing a new organisation, I would want to know, immediately, how it was planned to come in and how it was planned to go out. 'Haziness' always bothers me, I'm afraid.

throwingpebbles · 01/05/2016 22:52

And if it's so great lifetree then how do you explain away the fact that Money Saving Expert are removing any attempts to start threads promoting lifetreeworld ????? that would ring clunking great alarm bells to me ...

Nolongerconfused · 01/05/2016 22:53

LTW I shop online with tesco and never ever had a problem...actually I lie...once I had an order not show up and when I phoned it was because I didn't have enough funds in my bank as I had spent it all on aloe Vera gel as was short my 4cc. We lived on aloe that week was GREAT!

Twunk · 01/05/2016 22:53

I'm sorry to hear that Throwing - I think many people reckoned Amway was the past and we had moved on from there. Sadly they couldn't be more wrong Sad

LifeTreeWorld · 01/05/2016 22:53

That just doesn't make sense though Roundles.

What's £10 on milk and fruit got to do with it?

If you're buying shopping worth £165 per month on LTW and getting paid £200 per month...you're £35 up - every month, cash in your pocket. Whether you choose to spend that £35 on milk and fruit or fast cars and loose men isn't really relevant!

Twunk · 01/05/2016 22:56

But but but - if you're all spending £165 and getting £200 back WHERE IS THE MONEY COMING FROM?

Answer: a pyramid. Which WILL collapse.

Apologies for shouting

throwingpebbles · 01/05/2016 22:57

If anyone likes the idea of lifetree world but would prefer something slightly more professional and less scammy then you could try this

Twunk · 01/05/2016 22:57

I wonder what's preferable to survive a week on - Yazoo or Aloe?

cozietoesie · 01/05/2016 22:58

Why does it not seem to occur to people that if they have 'profit' as well as 'freebies' every month, then something has to pay for it? Money doesn't just breed overnight in holes in the ground.

LifeTreeWorld · 01/05/2016 22:58

And if it's so great lifetree then how do you explain away the fact that Money Saving Expert are removing any attempts to start threads promoting lifetreeworld

I haven't seen any such thing.

I did see a thread from a very well know MSE user get deleted...which was basic, factual information about LTW (no '!!!' or 'huns!' or promises of millions in earnings) and in the form of - this is for Q&A about LTW. Which was in direct response to people asking her about it. MSE blocked then deleted it, which I thought was a bit rich and quick off the mark considering the bloody huge Avon recruiting thread they have going. They've gone down a fair bit in my estimation tbh.

throwingpebbles · 01/05/2016 22:58

Yes, LTW you seem to be handily ignoring the fact that there has to be a whole pack of people beneath you who are buying the crappy hampers and not getting any money back......
And tbf I would have to be paid a lot more than £10 pcm to receive one of those hampers, let alone promote them to others Shock

cozietoesie · 01/05/2016 23:00

I'll ask my innards, Twunk. They might have a more accurate comment.
