Well said twunk.

clarinsgirl · 30/04/2016 23:12

My sentiment exactly Twunk.

DoTheMLMHustle · 30/04/2016 23:17

Spot on Twunk
The stories I'm hearing about extremely vulnerable people being signed up is very upsetting. They'll listen to what they're told. They'll believe the adverts that tell them they can earn £500+ on a few hours a week. If their FRIEND is telling them this then it must be ok. Why wouldn't anyone believe it? Then once they're in there's the pressure, the obligation to perform

There was a video, which was removed, showing notabotbutamsometimesabot how she made Vulture, or whatever it was, purely in retail sales. She and her team had flogged their guts out, to the point her team was complaining. It was NOT sustainable

So she learnt that you HAD to build a team. Or con other people as I like to put it

DoTheMLMHustle · 30/04/2016 23:21

Which demonstrates perfectly how this is not a business.

If you start a business selling widgets and the only way you can make money is to get other people to sell those widgets at a huge markup, paying the only a small commission, then you have an MLM

Toobusytowee · 01/05/2016 01:03

Here's an interesting comparison of the odds for making money in an MLM vs gambling.

DoTheMLMHustle · 01/05/2016 01:05

Just to warn regular posters. I had a pm by hashtagwinning asking for a link to the cheque video. They've not posted on Mn ever. So just joined to ask for that.

Toobusytowee · 01/05/2016 03:02

Mrgrumpy, I had a look at Lifevantage. It does indeed seem to be a load of MLM quackery shite. Scientific debunking is easy to find. Good news and bad news though.

Bad news- they are in/ are coming to the UK.

Good news- their bots are not allowed to be anonymous on forums. They are not allowed to engage publicly with anyone being negative about the products or business online.

DeepFriedFlamingo · 01/05/2016 03:08

Wow, that link, I think I'd rather go to Vegas and lose my money the fun way!

Anyone else's bot keep doing a C9 and losing about 7lbs... every few weeks she does it and each time goes back to eating 'normally' so has to do another one...I'm having to sit on my hands so I don't type 'of course you're going to lose weight by eating bugger all and taking random supplements, shakes and god knows what other crap you paid over £100 for.'

We started our weight loss journey at roughly the same time, I have lost nearly 3 stone the healthy way for example moving more and eating less with a bit of slimming world thrown in and she just looks the same except she's peddling this rubbish, God knows what damage she's doing to her body.

Really hope she sees the light soon

Toobusytowee · 01/05/2016 03:18

I found the stats to be quite interesting. They show you are more likely to make money in a traditional illegal pyramid scheme than in a product based MLM! So when bots say- "it's not a pyramid scheme, it's MLM," you can tell them that's not a great advert.

LifeBeginsNow · 01/05/2016 03:29

I've just been friend requested on Facebook by someone I don't know (although we have a lot of mutual friends in common) so I've checked out his profile and guess what... He's promoting Juice Plus. His page is full of loosing weight inspiration mixed with join my team requests. I'm going to save myself a lot of torture and decline Grin

RaeSkywalker · 01/05/2016 05:45

Life when I get ones like that, I message them saying "thanks for the add- I'm really sorry but I can't remember meeting you before. Can you jog my memory?"

Usually they don't reply, but sometimes you get something interesting back (and then you reject the request).

Botfan63 · 01/05/2016 05:48

Stop press anyone with an objective opinion is a troll bot and needs social media training and grammar checks. Wow you guys seriously is that the best you can offer 😂😂😂

If you start a business selling widgets and the only way you can make money is to get other people to sell those widgets at a huge markup, paying the only a small commission, then you have an MLM
Huge round of applause for the description of MLM you ve also just described a wide variety of other sales companies operating around the world.

DeepFriedFlamingo · 01/05/2016 06:06

Give it up BotFan, you should be a-fucking-shamed of yourself, MLM's wreck lives and I'm desparetly hoping that my friend will see the light soon and give it up, she's losing money hand over fist but due to the bollocks that you and your cronies sprout she believes that she will be a failure if she stops now (she thinks big bucks are just around the corner)

Her family are suffering, she's 'working' nearly 16 hours a day on the false promise of earning full time wages in part time hours.

So don't come in here and say that we're the bitches as you should really look in a fucking mirror and see yourself as the predatory thing you are. I don't give a rats ass if you are not in one yourself as you obviously know the score (either that or you're just naive)

I can't wait until the UK wakes up to these scams and makes them fucking illegal like all scams are and those that run Timeless Vie are doing a marvellous job which I will support until we start seeing these scams shut down.

Botfan63 · 01/05/2016 06:27

Oh look at you getting all angry and swearing classy!
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in thinking MLM and Direct selling is a great marketing model for business.

I absolutely know the score and with the right marketing plan, the right product set, the right person and work ethic and business acumen it clearly works. Now where was I, oh yes off to check the predatory mirror for all the poor helpless vulnerable imaginary people I've supposedly scammed in my pretend business.

DeepFriedFlamingo · 01/05/2016 06:42

Fuck off

Botfan63 · 01/05/2016 06:49

Classy! You should go work on your mindset

DeepFriedFlamingo · 01/05/2016 06:49

Very sorry people of TV et al. Didn't mean to swear and get angry but this is very real and BotFan is making a mockery of it all, expect my posts to get deleted very soon

throwingpebbles · 01/05/2016 07:20

This is for botfan and all the rest of the bots-who-must-not-be-named

timelessvie.wordpress.com/2016/04/30/its-not-about-you/

gottaloveascamhun · 01/05/2016 07:31

What happens when it all really reached saturation point, when no other prospects sign up? There isn't an infinite supply of people wanting to sign up... some will already have been prospected countless times on social media, in person, so when the marks run out what happens???

FLhahaha · 01/05/2016 07:35

Absolutely brilliant TV post. Really superb. Hear hear!

FLhahaha · 01/05/2016 07:36

That is the one we should now post over and over if we get someone - er... Getting cross with us.

cozietoesie · 01/05/2016 07:38

Thank you, throwing.

clarinsgirl · 01/05/2016 07:48

I'll just leave this here.

Mammamamy · 01/05/2016 08:22

Bot fan ... 'Supposedly scammed' ... There are so many vulnerable people that have been 'Actually scammed' and you are implying that is not the reality. You either believe it because of your cult mindset or you are an implicit fraudster.

"Recently when on a visit to the UK in your capital I noticed [...] Amway had an office and store across the road - packed with people buying various products and no doubt joining the business It would appear they are fully operational in the UK and operating the original marketing plan. Perhaps someone would kindly share their thoughts on this [..] Have they now satisfied DSA rulings to operate in the UK again."

Do you mean the Amway ""Flagship Experience" centre in Holborn?

www.amway-experience.com/3,uk,london,en.html

This is an office, really, where new Ambots can sign up, attend meetings and check new products. Check pics at: foursquare.com/v/amway-experience-centre/507ab869e4b047ff2c7b00d4/photos

I very much doubt they do retail, as per FL and all the other MLMs, the poor bots buy the products themselves (and the training, tools, events, etc.) Amway, unfortunately, was never illegal in the UK. I just hope the US revisit the ruling that allowed it - and its offspring, FL, Nuskin, Jamberry - to exist. (specifically it is not a pyramid scheme provided that all IBOs make 10 retail sales per month. That is never enforced, of course)
