A brief history of the threads so far-

A few people were bemused at their friends' strange personality changes when they joined MLMs.
Eyespying told us they were tragicomic, thought stopping cultic racketeers.
We told him to go away, he was clearly obsessed, and can he go to his own serious thread?
We delved a bit deeper into the issues.
Eyes started creeping back. We told him he was too serious.
We became more horrified at the information being turned up and were sharing links.
Eyes told us aboutMerchants of Deception.
Timeless Vie was set up as a parody about MLMs.[[www.facebook.com/timelessvie
Facebook,]] Twitter, blog, Instagram and YouTube were all used.
People started coming forward, telling of their experiences in MLMs.
We became more horrified.
Bot Watch started on Facebook where links were put up of interest to do with MLMs.
Botwatchblog started and produced factual analysis of the discussions from MN.
MLM members (bots) waded in saying it was all ok. You can earn great money. You just have to work 19 hours a day and not worry about morals.
Bots complained about their names being used. Their lawyers complained to MNHQ so that MN now do not allow us to use bots' names or show screengrabs of their writings even if it is in the public domain.
Blogs and FB posts increased, with the increasing amount of facts and whistleblowers coming forward.
FL lawyer tried to get TV YouTube video banned.
Bots claimed we were bullying them because we were asking them questions they couldn't answer. we were called middle aged women and accused of being drug dealers.
It got a bit nasty so we ate some cheese for a bit and they went away.
Health claims from FL bots now reducing dramatically as a result of pestering from all of us.
We stopped telling Eyes he was too serious. We all started thinking in his language and realised he was right.
Eyes turned out to be very funny and entertained us all.
Sunday Times article produced exposing FL. With a little help from people here.
Lawyers still persisting in trying to ban TV's videos.

I dont miss you chimps. You threatened me and others on here but were not reprimanded as you well know. Stop trolling and get over yourself. Its not an implication, its a FACT and I have the screen shots to prove it... HUN.

Melaw21 · 01/04/2016 18:42

And that is all I have to say to you.

When you continually bully, and upset someone - Karma can be a real pain in the rear - as Eyes has found out! - He ramblings were untrue and onesided, always against the Mormon faith and centred around hostility. Melaw21 you have posted some comments aimed at me - I requested you to stop or explain the meaning behind these you chose not to - I requested you to stop bullying - you chose not to - are you really surprised at MN's stance now?

Melaw21 · 01/04/2016 18:46

Exactly Cubic... There are other ways to wank a cactus.

No own goal Cubic - MN has a business to protect - simple, they don't need the legal headaches that a few have stirred up and havoc some are trying to wreck against an industry that totals millions of participants and companies that have "deep" pockets willing to protect their interests as well. No own goal - just simple economics...

Melaw21 · 01/04/2016 18:53

Wouldnt worry too much cubic... People can continue to Read Eyes' VERY successful blog....

This thread will be quiet without his "cultic" "tragicomical" statements anyways - even now I use these phrases with the children, it's left it's mark - lol!

Bearbehind · 01/04/2016 19:00

chimps is quite clearly only here to pick the bones of eyes being banned and stir up trouble.

Says a lot really.

workingwithchimps · 01/04/2016 19:01

Not picking any bones Bear - you will however remember Melaw21- cited me earlier??

Melaw21 · 01/04/2016 19:01

Yep... Sure does Bear and as predictable as ever.

workingwithchimps · 01/04/2016 19:08

Sorry Melaw21 - not predictable, At least NOW we ALL know the script, no names, no personal information about "bots", no addresses, no company information that you don't have permission to reproduce, no FB statuses that you don't have permission to reproduce, no list of names with special codes or initials, no bullying, no slavery implications, no baiting. What else is missed? (apart from myself obviously)

ambler21 · 01/04/2016 19:09

I hope MN thought long and hard about this decision. I'm guessing they did and have bowed to legal advice. That is oc their choice as it's their site.
To try and justify it by saying he only commented on one subject is a ridiculous thing to say when in the same breath you mention free speech.
Also, is this a blanket rule across mumsnet that no actual real life names can ever be mentioned? Or just a thread where faceless corporations throw their weight about?
Personally I was getting narked off with the idea of not being able to reference and repeat info already in the public domain so maybe this is just the kick in the ass we needed to move somewhere where we, as a group, control the agenda.
Onwards and upwards good people.

cozietoesie · 01/04/2016 19:11

I had to read that twice! (I think you were quite clear by the way. Smile)

Bearbehind · 01/04/2016 19:11

melaw she'll potter off when she realises no one is taking any notice of her at all Grin

cozietoesie · 01/04/2016 19:15

Sorry - that post was to Cubic.

chuckingstones · 01/04/2016 19:16

chimps I think you'll find that Melaw quoted your username, not you personally. You choose to use that name, you could change it as you wish. I think you'll find this thread was never "quiet", however I find it surprising that you've chosen to come back, do you want to contribute to the ideal that MLMs aren't a good thing? Eyes may not have gone about it in the right way, but I don't believe there were any untruths in his statements. You don't have to dig very far to find out what is wrong with most of these MLMs. Of course those involved at the highest levels can legitimately turn a blind eye, they're the ones making money off of their downlines. Fortunately Timeless Vie is helping out those lower down to see the light, helping them to escape before they lose too much money. Also Bot Watch is there to make sure everything is compliant (which, from what we've seen, 99% of the time it isn't!).

So feel free to report defamatory posts, gather your own evidence if necessary to share with others of your ilk, but coming here, trying to wind people up? Well that's something my kids would do, or maybe they wouldn't, I might have brought them up to be more sensible than that!

I'm not going to defend the behaviour of others on here, some have their own agendas, but that's for MN to police and for people to flag. They do a damn good job and don't really need any flames fanning.

Patzy85 · 01/04/2016 19:17

It is worth noting that this works both ways as bots are also legally responsible for what they're posting, both here and elsewhere. I believe this matter is currently being dealt with by the ASA.
