A brief history of the threads so far-

A few people were bemused at their friends' strange personality changes when they joined MLMs.
Eyespying told us they were tragicomic, thought stopping cultic racketeers.
We told him to go away, he was clearly obsessed, and can he go to his own serious thread?
We delved a bit deeper into the issues.
Eyes started creeping back. We told him he was too serious.
We became more horrified at the information being turned up and were sharing links.
Eyes told us aboutMerchants of Deception.
Timeless Vie was set up as a parody about MLMs.[[www.facebook.com/timelessvie
Facebook,]] Twitter, blog, Instagram and YouTube were all used.
People started coming forward, telling of their experiences in MLMs.
We became more horrified.
Bot Watch started on Facebook where links were put up of interest to do with MLMs.
Botwatchblog started and produced factual analysis of the discussions from MN.
MLM members (bots) waded in saying it was all ok. You can earn great money. You just have to work 19 hours a day and not worry about morals.
Bots complained about their names being used. Their lawyers complained to MNHQ so that MN now do not allow us to use bots' names or show screengrabs of their writings even if it is in the public domain.
Blogs and FB posts increased, with the increasing amount of facts and whistleblowers coming forward.
FL lawyer tried to get TV YouTube video banned.
Bots claimed we were bullying them because we were asking them questions they couldn't answer. we were called middle aged women and accused of being drug dealers.
It got a bit nasty so we ate some cheese for a bit and they went away.
Health claims from FL bots now reducing dramatically as a result of pestering from all of us.
We stopped telling Eyes he was too serious. We all started thinking in his language and realised he was right.
Eyes turned out to be very funny and entertained us all.
Sunday Times article produced exposing FL. With a little help from people here.
Lawyers still persisting in trying to ban TV's videos.

Ouch. Well done for getting out.

What's this 'buying of leads' ?

Seems pretty clear what he's saying. It's a great link, plus bonus points for use of the word bedevilled.

FrenchPenPal · 30/03/2016 22:25

Buying of leads....companies advertise for you....mainly blind adverts (I.E you are not told which company) but some specific. You pay an amount per lead...you can specify area or what they have responded to.

Big Advertising and Advert Anywhere were popular with my upline.

fastdaytears · 30/03/2016 22:27

I wonder if social media has killed that off or people still do that

cozietoesie · 30/03/2016 22:27

Interesting. Thanks.

ambler21 · 30/03/2016 22:28

Agreed. The Cubic posts have been fascinating. To hear her interpretation has been invaluable for me. It's always felt like an honest in/out viewpoint. Thanks for that Cubic.
If you could just condense months worth of input into an easy to read leaflet/essay/book well that would be great thanks Grin

cozietoesie · 30/03/2016 22:32

I would actually really appreciate some regular repeating of one or two of Cubic's 'scripts'. I still have this dark memory of the one dealing with prospecting someone you're visiting for coffee.

If anyone can find them on one of the old threads? Grin

Eyespying · 30/03/2016 22:33

cozietoesie 'Leads' are the names of potential recruits which are sold to 'MLM' Bots, but with no guarantee that they will sign up. After years of fraud, the sale of 'Leads' has lately been outlawed by 'MLM' cults under investigation, like 'Herbalife.' In some cases 'Leads' have been peddled for hundreds of $ each. There are also 'Lead Generation Systems' (software which is supposed to produce the names of willing recruits).

Shawn Dahl was one of the biggest 'Herbalife Lead' and 'Lead Generation' racketeers.

cozietoesie · 30/03/2016 22:34

Perhaps it was about Thread 7 or 8? Grin

cozietoesie · 30/03/2016 22:34

Thanks, Eye. Smile

Out of interest, just how tired were you at the time you were 'in', Cubic?

Eyespying · 30/03/2016 22:45

CubicZirconiaBossyBabe - Thanks. Being considered OTT has gone with the territory. The truth about 'MLM' cultic racketeering became almost unthinkable years ago, but when you start to look beyond all the Utopian BS and examine the nightmare evidence, 'MLM' has undoubtedly been one of the most-significant, and profitable, developments of the criminogenic cultic phenomenon, since WWII.

It's just that constant tiredness stops you thinking straight. (Especially the low-level stuff because your body can still operate for a good while.) You only have capacity, as well, to think about a few things.

Motorheadmum · 30/03/2016 23:10

I've just seen the TV post on Fb. Again I can't believe it. The people trying to justify what was put are unbelievable. Totally botshit

FrenchPenPal · 30/03/2016 23:11

I totally get it cubic!
We had weekly competitions in our group with different activities earning us "points" and a target setting and review group call where we had to say what sales and how many recruits we wanted each week and we were held to account in front of the rest of the group about our numbers. (Or lack of them) The peer pressure was definitely there. I used to dread it. FFS we were self-employed but it never felt like it.

We were never allowed to moan or question anything, even in private groups or face to face. You were labelled "negative nelly" and sent to Coventry until you started producing results again.

Keeping adherents in a state of exhaustion by running training late at night is one of the ways the MLM leaders keep their members malleable in terms of brainwashing, from what I've read on here... sleep deprived and also possibly calorie deprived from doing a clean 9 for the fifth time in 10 months. We all know as sleep deprived mothers that mental and reasoning faculties are impaired when you're in this state. Tired and emotional. Dark stuff.

Dear Goodness. People are primed to recruit through playdates?

Twunk · 30/03/2016 23:21

It just sounds like high-pressure sales - but with meagre rewards. Seriously if I was going to have that sort of stress put on me I would want some hope of seeing the ££££.

What sort of hours were you doing? I guess it was like you were "always on".

Twunk · 30/03/2016 23:22

Yes I now know one of the school mums is a Bot and I waited until she walked past to get out the car today (from earlier in the thread you may have noticed my chagrin when I accidentally liked an "online party"
