A brief history of the threads so far-

A few people were bemused at their friends' strange personality changes when they joined MLMs.
Eyespying told us they were tragicomic, thought stopping cultic racketeers.
We told him to go away, he was clearly obsessed, and can he go to his own serious thread?
We delved a bit deeper into the issues.
Eyes started creeping back. We told him he was too serious.
We became more horrified at the information being turned up and were sharing links.
Eyes told us aboutMerchants of Deception.
Timeless Vie was set up as a parody about MLMs.[[www.facebook.com/timelessvie
Facebook,]] Twitter, blog, Instagram and YouTube were all used.
People started coming forward, telling of their experiences in MLMs.
We became more horrified.
Bot Watch started on Facebook where links were put up of interest to do with MLMs.
Botwatchblog started and produced factual analysis of the discussions from MN.
MLM members (bots) waded in saying it was all ok. You can earn great money. You just have to work 19 hours a day and not worry about morals.
Bots complained about their names being used. Their lawyers complained to MNHQ so that MN now do not allow us to use bots' names or show screengrabs of their writings even if it is in the public domain.
Blogs and FB posts increased, with the increasing amount of facts and whistleblowers coming forward.
FL lawyer tried to get TV YouTube video banned.
Bots claimed we were bullying them because we were asking them questions they couldn't answer. we were called middle aged women and accused of being drug dealers.
It got a bit nasty so we ate some cheese for a bit and they went away.
Health claims from FL bots now reducing dramatically as a result of pestering from all of us.
We stopped telling Eyes he was too serious. We all started thinking in his language and realised he was right.
Eyes turned out to be very funny and entertained us all.
Sunday Times article produced exposing FL. With a little help from people here.
Lawyers still persisting in trying to ban TV's videos.

The boy who posted that needs reporting under the Cancer Act 1939 www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Geo6/2-3/13/section/4

mmmkayyyy Are you sure that's a Forever Living recruitment video? It looks more like what the men in the white coats saw when they left the cameras running behind a two-way mirror in a secure unit. She is oozing desperation from every pore, and it's terrifying. Part of me feels sorry for her though.

The aloe juice cures cancer conversation which Timeless Vie has published is disturbing. What is wrong with these people? Angry

BS it's a youneek recruitment video. Makes the fl ones loom classy and professional

keeptheaspidistra · 30/03/2016 20:27

*look

bettyberry · 30/03/2016 20:52

annnnnd caught up!

BSintolerant · 30/03/2016 21:23

keep I didn't realise it was a youneeeeeek! recruitment video. Seen one, seen 'em all.

Eyes you're a very naughty boy for googling a bot using information she's made public for all to see. That's classed as bullying on Planet Bot, that is! Wink

She's definitely being exploited though.

Eyespying · 30/03/2016 21:42

BSintolerant Just a couple of minutes Google-searching and this starry-eyed dreamer is an open-book to anyone, but particularly to 'MLM' recruiters. You can just imagine the strategy they used to entrap her.

FrenchPenPal · 30/03/2016 21:44

Lurker finally delurking

I was a "victim" of this - for 2 companies (you would have thought I would have learnt the first time)

I got caught up with Kleeneze first via the job centre. I thought I was applying for a job but it turned out not to be. Google "Universal jobmatch Kleeneze" - Channel 4 and Dispatches investigated this a couple of years ago. I did get sucked in via this method. My upline was one of the major culprits of this type of advertising. They seemed to do ok out of it as they got an extra holiday to Dubai.

I then got caught again when I was looking on the generic type of recruitment websites - this time surprise surprise for a job as "health and wellness business development manager" - even though it said work from home, I didn't fully twig until it was too late. They had my CV and were able to "people profile" me. Just Google "Proto Pensioner youtube" and there is a whole host of profiling types.

Hope this is ok for my first post!

fastdaytears · 30/03/2016 21:49

Hi French you say you would have learnt, but in both cases you were not given the information you needed and were massively deceived. Well you're out now. Welcome to the dark side.

The bot who FBed about cancer has outed herself! So no need to name and shame her. She's commented on the FB link to the blog. Seriously.

cozietoesie · 30/03/2016 21:53

Welcome French. Good to have you here. Smile

FrenchPenPal Thank-you and welcome. I offer you double respect for admitting you were caught not once, but twice. I hope that you didn't lose too much? You sound as though you've been doing a bit of research on this?

cozietoesie · 30/03/2016 22:04

They only seem to understand some of the mechanics of things, Cubic.

worcestersauce29 · 30/03/2016 22:05

I've been asked by sports shoes with wheels why I have posted timeless links on her fb page……..oops…………….not ;)

gottaloveascamhun · 30/03/2016 22:08

Ha ha mmmkay video is tragicomic :)

Eyespying · 30/03/2016 22:09

FrenchPenPal Thanks again, that's a very valuable link you've given us.

cozietoesie · 30/03/2016 22:09

If I were an adherent, I'd be becoming increasingly edgy about using social media and YouTube for anything other than strictly personal matters. I guess they might feel they have no realistic other course though. Smile

gottaloveascamhun · 30/03/2016 22:10

Cubic your insights as an escapee from this madness are really interesting. The bots posting and the upline watching but not intervening. (I mean that genuinely, it looks a bit sarcastic in text but not at all my intention )

fastdaytears · 30/03/2016 22:12

Eyes I just read that too, was about to link. Terrifying.

fastdaytears · 30/03/2016 22:13

Oh, and the usual denial from the bosses. Kleeneze have never told anyone to post jobs on that site OR provided a template. That's ok then.

cozietoesie · 30/03/2016 22:13

It didn't look sarcastic to me, gotta. Smile

Cubic's insights are occasionally chilling but always fascinating.

FrenchPenPal · 30/03/2016 22:18

I was caught up for about 3 years in Kleeneze. It was a lot of pounding the streets and then putting people in an auto responder email loop to recruit them. I didn't go down the route of buying leads (average cost £2 per lead) but did a lot of flyering and 3ft rules. (Talking to people within 3 feet) Also did "buggy bashing" ....which is targeting mums with buggies in the street. We had to pay for conferences and team meetings as well as Business Meetings that we would take prospects to. I stopped before it got really spammy on FB with K life and selling online..I was a traditional catalogue putter outer.

Forever was a bit more "upmarket" and costs of operating more expensive. There was much more "education" on the psychological reasons to get people to join. Was deep down the family tree of the FL glitterati but did get to see them a few times. Very slick operation.
