i currently pay £18 a month for my broadband with BT and option 2 on the phone.

would like to change to the talk talk thingy free broadband when you pay the free phone calls anytime package.

not best explanation but does anyone have either - does it work out cheaper. also if things go wrong with talk talk do they fix it promptly??

thanks

Not had broadband with either, but did have phone package with Talk Talk at one time. It was cheaper (paid option 1 line rental to BT and call costs to Talk Talk). However had loads of problems with them in that they kept meesing up the direct debit collection and then charging us cos the bill wasn't paid on time, even though it was them who'd messed up. Eventually went back to BT cos it was less hassle.

Id stay away from talk talk personally! We are with BT but DP used to work for talk talk broadband and they have taken on so much there is a massive back log and its taking ages to sort everything out, plus not everywhere is entitled to free broadband

I had the same experience as nuttygirl

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo - talk talk are, IMHO, the pits. Our broadband went down for 2 weeks in November after an "upgrade" and we had no internet access and both me and DH work from home. Getting through on their "customer service" number is a joke and when you do you get through, you then get cut off numerous times before being passed from pillar to post as no-one can help (!) We spent literally hours on the phone and emails until we finally got it sorted. Stick with BT - better the devil you know LOL!

I have had talktalk for a while now and no probs with it at all. they aorted out a problem with the exchange box by that afternoon and even rung me back on my mobile so i wouidn't be charged for the call. We pay About £20 a month for phone/broadband and we get free calls and a certain amount of international calls.
I think its much better than BT

talk talk messed up my direct debits (was like they helped themselves to my bank account!), took AGES to sort things out, and when i changed back to BT,kept billing me still! stay away IMO

We are with skybroadband and sky talk and they are very good.

tubismybub · 08/01/2007 13:43

We've just left talk talk and gone over to NTL. Talk Talk were awful, always had loads of problems getting on line. We now pay £30 a month for line rental, NTL television and broadband. So far no problems at all.

thanks everyone.

twinkle - how much is it with sky - i have the telly package so could swap over for phone and broadband i suppose.

thing is - is talk talk cheaper than BT?

I think with sky, it's free broadband and £5 a month phone, but you have to keep your line rental with BT.

If you have sky, just ask them for their free broadband. Checkout their web
