Thanks for that video, Patzy. Smile

Almost as interesting were the sidebar videos that linked to it.

'Storytelling Part 2' was particularly illuminating I thought. (I looked for Part 1 but couldn't find it even though it might be there somewhere -.so many of the videos have been made Private that it's sometimes difficult to tell. Smile)

cozietoesie · 24/03/2016 15:45

I wouldn't like to think that anyone might be moved to capture that Storytelling Part 2 video though. I'm sure it will be left up as an exemplar of the various internet options that can be utilised and why.

Smile

cozie I find wine tends to help with improving my mindset- and gatherings with my friends funnily enough too. That's what's always got me, if a wine mlm couldn't recruit me then everyone else has no chance!

cozietoesie · 24/03/2016 16:07

You see - you clearly haven't watched Storytelling Part 2.

That would help to clarify matters for you. Smile

LMGTFY · 24/03/2016 16:16

I haven't but then I'm at my desk skiving working hard so I can't atm, perhaps it might be best with wine later?

cozietoesie · 24/03/2016 16:46

Either very sober or very drunk. Grin

kamchatka23 · 24/03/2016 17:27

I watched the Storytelling Part 2 video. How did I ever live without being told by some bloke on a stage that Facebook is more for personal stuff and Linked in for professional? I'm quite distraught Part 1 is missing, I bet it was equally mind blowing.

MimsyPimsy · 24/03/2016 18:02

I actually really enjoyed the video and found it strangely hypnotic Grin but then I don't work in marketing. It almost made me want to join FL, with all those channels, Facebook, Twitter, lovely photos!

I don't expect he sells FL stuff though, does he? I think he'd be getting paid for his presentation.

cozietoesie · 24/03/2016 18:05

Are you feeling well, Mimsy?

MimsyPimsy · 24/03/2016 18:15

Grin Think it was lack of food...

ProfessorBranestawm · 24/03/2016 18:16

I have nothing useful to add, but I've sometimes had a look at these threads and think they're great. I only recently gained a Juice+er on my FB but while she posts a lot isn't actually pushing anyone once they say no thanks.

I did think of you all the other day though - been watching King of the Hill and there was an episode called Bill of Sales which is all about MLM.

cozietoesie · 24/03/2016 18:19

Thank you Professor. I must have a look. Smile

Twunk · 24/03/2016 19:14

I think mimsy needs an intervention Grin

cozietoesie · 24/03/2016 20:16

Or a stiff drink. Wink

afterthegoldrush · 24/03/2016 20:20

Have some cheese -

Kanga59 · 24/03/2016 20:28

thoughts on Birchbox? MLM or no?

cozietoesie · 24/03/2016 20:38

I'd say not - just overpriced and unfortunately regular. Persuade me. Smile

cozietoesie · 24/03/2016 20:40

Ahhhh - 'It's not a pyramid scheme - it's a triangle'. Grin

cozietoesie · 24/03/2016 20:42

Sorry - that was a reference to King of the Hill.

orchidnap · 24/03/2016 21:22

So someone just posted on my local mums facebook group saying they had one day off a week and dont know any mums as they are new to the area and want to meet up with other mums as a regular once a week thing.

shes a bot.

Am i cynical or is it just to get more people to peddle crap to?

cozietoesie · 24/03/2016 21:32

Is it possible she's trying to escape - if you say she's already in an MLM - and maybe looking for ways to make new friends who are unconnected?

OK - that may be clutching at straws.

cozietoesie · 24/03/2016 21:35

PS - is there any reason why you can't post links to Timeless Vie which will reach the local FB group?
.

ProfessorBranestawm · 24/03/2016 21:47

Glad you found it Cozie I tried linking but it wouldn't work on YouTube for me. DH couldn't understand why I found it quite that funny (he doesn't really do internet stuff so is pretty oblivious to MLMs) :o my favourite bit was at the end where each person went to the one above them to place Peggy's order - really nailed the whole concept I thought.

Orchid I'd be cynical too :( of course it may be genuine but I've experienced MLMers who pounce on vulnerable people. A friend has been taken in recently, not a MLM exactly but very much a Mummy-franchise IYSWIM, it's really knocked her confidence as it fell apart so quickly

throwingpebbles · 24/03/2016 22:33

what Wikipedia has to say about MLMs

Not sure if this has been linked to before? Pretty interesting and succinct. Some useful details too.

Obviously the whole thing was written by uneducated negative haterrrrrz Wink

cozietoesie · 24/03/2016 22:39

You forgot to insert 'middle-aged' in there, throwing. Grin
