Had a little browse through some bots pages. For a bizniz that "empowers" puke women to lie and scam everyone they know earn multiple 6 figure salaries; not a mention of International Women's Day.
I thought they'd be all over it!

Patzy85 · 08/03/2016 19:54

Cynic - the last thing they'd want to really do is empower women. It's an industry that preys on insecurity. The less empowered the more susceptible, not to mention easier to manipulate.

To really be a #bossbabe, a truly devoted one who bleeds aloe, you have to lose yourself and become their puppet.
You cannot even think for yourself, that also needs to be programmed through mindset training.

Motorheadmum · 08/03/2016 19:54

Oh, this is making me laugh just a little too much.. Bossbabe being a real Buisness created by someone?? You honestly couldn't make it up? What I don't understand is why out one long post then disappear?

On a good note my FL bot is still quiet!

cynicbuthappy · 08/03/2016 19:57

Patzy Kinda the point I was (obviously badly) trying to make!

Notmymonkeys · 08/03/2016 19:57

So today I sat in a meeting while a bot had her wrists slapped for pushing aloeshite to vulnerable new mothers with whom she is in a position of trust. Then she had the opportunity to deliver her marketing spiel to the room, including how the products are 'endorsed by doctors' 'we have our own GP', and it's so frustrating she's not allowed to give women aloeshite products that she 'knows will help them'.

There was sympathetic nodding round the table.

Ugh.

I need to fight this. How do I fight this?

Elsaandannaandelsaandanna · 08/03/2016 19:59

Hello folks. Been lurking for a while but saw something today that made me uneasy so thought I'd post. Basically it's a FL distributor, posting on YouTube about how FL products can cure autism. That's right, not just treat, but CURE.

Like, seriously?

Same poster has three other "cure" videos.

I feel for the lady in the video (who I don't think is the distributor btw). I'm sure living with autism / adhd is tough, and don't doubt that the products are helping on some respect.

But to (a) proclaim this stuff as a cure, and (b) attempt to foist this well overpriced product on people who are desperate for health, just stinks.

Link below.

notmy that must have been very frustrating. Perhaps arm yourself by reading the FL compliance brochures (they say the right things, even though we know they covertly encourage bad behaviours)?

sparkleyes · 08/03/2016 20:21

Not my monkeys

Can you ask her to provide substantiated evidence of the fact the products are "backed by medical experts"

I would raise your concerns to a higher level in your workplace.

cozietoesie · 08/03/2016 20:21

I'm not sure you can at that sort of meeting, Notmy - at least not without endangering your own professional standing and thereby lending a bit more credibility to the claims. You might hope that a weight of reports will finally lead to a change of attitude.

Notmymonkeys · 08/03/2016 20:27

I (and others) have been reporting everything we see/hear. Our direct supervisor hasn't been able to meet with her supervisor about it yet. I'm hoping once she does the situation might improve.

I have scoured the bot's facebook page for anything non-compliant, but I think she's pretty careful about what she posts publically. She does have testimonials on there, but I assume that's ok, legally speaking? I have reports of her sending private messages making medical claims, but not the actual messages themselves.

Kanga59 · 08/03/2016 20:30

Gosh, lots to catch up on this eve.

Can I summarise it as, Eyes has seriously rattles some FL cages with his police force Enquiries, which has resulted in our number one chumps returning to demonstrate said rattled cages. Three pages ago he appeared for one post only, yet still lingers...

Michelle...WTAF?? Get with the programme love, then please re-join!

Slugsandcabbages · 08/03/2016 20:32

If the testimonials contain any mention of medical conditions or health benefits that aren't approved and in the product brochure then it's non-compliant.

cozietoesie · 08/03/2016 20:36

That's why people with 'professional standing' are such valuable targets. If you can recruit them - and it is at least possible with any of us - then they often have a wealth of dedicated and honest service to the community which forms the backdrop to their current claims. And they're frequently believers. And they'll likely have one heck of a potential audience or following.

Noymonkeys - just awful, I can't believe she was allowed to deliver her pitch after being reprimanded as well!

Found a great, informative link on MLMs. I'm not sure if it has been shared before.

I'm flipping between fight-the-bastards anger and feeling completely dispirited. I think I need a lot of wine tonight and I will regroup tomorrow and work out what to do next.

BlahBlahfuckingBlah · 08/03/2016 20:56

Loving the #hunspiration but loving the heart shaped post it note thing more, I need this in my life

Eyespying · 08/03/2016 21:04

Kanga59 I'd like to credit Chuckingstones who, earlier on this thread, found the material evidence concerning the number of British 'FL,' and 'Herbalife,' police Bots. I knew it was there from the comments I've received on my Blog from anonymous British police officers, I'd just never done any serious searching.

Unfortunately, in my experience, the police service tends to behave like all institutions when faced with a looming scandal. It closes ranks and hopes the scandal will not break.

acatcalledjohn · 08/03/2016 21:05

Another interesting read about MLMs using manipulation and cult tactics.

Eyespying · 08/03/2016 21:12

Patzy85 At the time, I spoke at great length with the author of the Al Jazeera articles, Alia Malek. What she really thought about 'MLM' cults and what she was allowed to publish were not exactly the same. Alia was just about to leave Al Jazeera to write another book, but not about 'MLM.'
