I've found these threads fascinating, so thank you all! One thing I find strange. FL etc promote the rapid rise up the ranks as evidence of the success of MLMs. But surely that's evidence of the failure of bots to actually make money?
I gather the bot passes through several phases?
a) When they start, they promote to friends, and the most shameless successful rise up the ridiculous ranks pretty quickly. After all, if your friend says they are making money, you would believe them.
b) The bot then runs out of friends, so moves on to friends of friends, acquaintances etc. This promotes the bot to the manager (or whatever) rank, so they feel pretty successful, and expect this to continue.
c) However, then the bot runs out of "easier" targets. To maintain the momentum, they may decide to use their own money to rise further, by buying product themselves, or as we've heard, by offering a loan to pay upfront for a box.
d)The most "successful" reach the top 20 in the UK etc. Luckily, this happens rapidly (before they realise the truth), but must coincide with when they run out of hot prospects (aka friends or people going through a vulnerable time).
e) Then they run out of money to maintain their level, or perhaps they see the light and get a J.O.B. so they drop down the rankings, freeing the way for later recruits to take their place.
So the only reason these Shrillbots rise up the rankings so quickly is because others are dropping out. And due to the mindset training, those who drop out feel it's because of some innate failure in their own personality/work ethic, rather than a failure of the whole system.
So do we never hear about them again? Could more of these not stand up and be counted, to prevent more people being taken in? Much kudos to those who have spoken out though.
