Anyone can be ensnared I reckon. You just need the 'right' pressure (including inducements) at the 'right' time. No-one here is immune even if they think they are right now.

oh sorry if I've broken any rules !! barnbot has a tendancy to lie and exaggerate her lifestyle to suck others in - I also know that she and some of her down-line, when struggling to get new recruits (victims) - when they say "I haven't got the money for this" or "I can't afford it" (usually the easy way out) they offer to buy the box for you, you can then pay them back when you have the money or £25 weekly !! just so they get the sign-up - I know quite a few people they have done this to - one is a very young girl, 3 young children, she felt bullied into doing this - she really didn't want to - but she kept hearing these words "you'd be REALLY good at this" and look we'll help you buy it !! just pay us the money when you have it !! are they acting against company policy by doing this??

They are breaking the law, I think we discussed it earlier, it is called, undue pressure, or something like that.
It's obvious why they do it, they can't keep their promotions or get promoted further without constant recruitment, they soon run out of prospects (because there aren't enough people on the planet to provide enough prospects for every mlm adherent to have the required massive downline), so this is why they get aggressive and this is why they buy the box for people. Desperation makes people do desperate things. Not very positive is it? Nothing like the positive mindset we are lead to believe.
Although their behaviour is nasty, they are as much victims of the scam as everyone else, if not more, because they have trapped themselves in an extravagant lifestyle when the business that supports it is on teetering, wobbly foundations that could come crashing down any minute. It all seems very exhausting to me.

No need to apologise, diamondgirlie. It's just that these are threads that have more than one set of eyes on them so I suspect that it behoves us all to post on them in strict accordance with the rules - ie carefully.

There's a fiction book which some of you might find interesting - of its time but still a good read. It's called One More Sunday by the American thriller writer John D Macdonald. It would be some light bedtime reading for you, Eye.

eyes that's very interesting about Herbalife. I watched someone promote Herbalife on a sports group recently. Was nice to see that so many people weren't being drawn in by the claims. They like to use that Ronaldo is sponsored by them. They can't see that he is being paid a shitload by Herbalife to promote them and that if he wasn't being paid by them, he wouldn't be using them if at all anyway

That book is on kindle, Eye. I think it's one of those where you can 'dip' into the beginning to see if it takes your fancy.

Hi diamond I think what you have said echoes what many others have said previously, it does seem that many of these top bots have maybe not been quite so squeaky clean in how they've come to be in their current position.

The dream they're selling is a lie, and it won't last forever either. The pot (usually not funded by MLM) eventually will run dry. They must live in such fear about that day coming.

MacDonald started off, just like Hubbard, working all hours to sell hundreds of stories to loads of pulp magazines, but he quickly became a very successful serious writer. Unlike Hubbard, he never found the need to start his own cult religion.
