I jumped on to say that though there are some negatives in our occupation - there are the same amount in others - I have worked for horrible bosses and bad companies that have treated me badly for a wage, but I find working for myself doing what I do satisfying. You join my team be prepared to work hard - because that is what we do every penny is counted for - in life nothing is easy - and there are no free lunches!

Oh, I am not annoyed that you haven't suddenly changed your minds about MLM, you are free to think and do what you choose.

I just stand by my ORIGINAL view that not everyone in MLM is a cult leader brainwashed and/or out to con, scam people.

Mimsy, yes I did. I have had a facebook account for years obviously, but didn't start branding myself till last year Jan. May I ask why you are interested?

vego says he/she 'gets round the morality' of it all but never confirmed how. Where do you sit with all of that chimps? I'll assume you're aware of why we don't like MLM so will be able to answer that. If not, please read the previous threads. There are negatives in every occupation but most aren't to do with the morality of conning people.

Vego - true that we are not all consumed by fear and loathing - all business has good and bad - to be compared to what a lot of people here have purported us to be is saddening - I sleep well each night knowing that I have done my best for my income and my team.

Vego I guess because I'm interested in the psychology of it all. When you first posted, you said that many people just went into it to make friends. It was like you were convincing yourself that it was ok to reel people in, because they weren't bothered about making money etc. You were almost doing them a service - "giving" them lovely products and a ready made family.

But if you look at it dispassionately, it just can't be right, getting so many people, many vulnerable - and you yourself said you were a single mother in financial straits - to join up, knowing that they won't make any money. In fact, if they don't get out in time, they may lose a lot of money.

In the MLM world it just seems to be suddenly announcing you're a lifestyle coach or some such kerfuffle when frankly you sell some over priced tat and aren't fit to coach a snail?

Lazycoo - in answer to your question morality is not a part of it - I provide a service whether you like it or not - I move product whether it liked, overpriced or what - I provide the chance for others to emulate me and earn money whether that is liked or not.

Would any poster currently involved with an MLM like to comment on this report from the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations which says that in 2014 the UK had retail sales of $3880 million and there were 544,000 direct sellers.
That makes the UK average $713 which currently converts to £506.
And that's the average. So if some direct sellers are turning over the hundreds or thousands that we've seen them claim to, then there MUST be many, many more that are making a significant loss.
The numbers just don't add up.
All comments welcome as to why I'm wrong though...

All I am saying is, I have a leaders chat ongoing. And if you were able to read those conversations day in and day out, you would understand why I said what I said. I can't really say anything else about that.
