What is it with barns? It is what they all want. Why not just a 4 bed detached house on the right side of town? They all have identical goals.

MrGrumpy - Image. Pure and simple.

People buy into the lifestyle that these particular bots 'sell'. That's how they want to live, big car, barn, adoring downline, loads of money.

A bot I know actually said to a year ago "I was sceptical too at first, but so and so has only been doing it for 10 months and has just moved into a huge barn conversion and has drives a Range Rover. Before that she had nothing. It's very achievable."

That is what sold it to her and at this point she was already in to deep.

That bot was of course a top bot, who lives no where near us and has no links to the bot I know.

And, unsurprisingly, the bot I know still hasn't got the barn. Or the Range Rover. Or the adoring downline. I think she is yet to break even.

StrumpersPlunkett · 10/02/2016 23:14

Feel so sad that my friend is using some of her dead husbands insurance money to fund her new exciting money making venture
It has been about a month and she is posting 2-5 times a day on fb and emailing. It is too much!!!

Annie65 · 10/02/2016 23:14

My sil has won an ipad as an incentive. She is well and truely lost to us now. Oh well, she knows how I feel and has still invited me to like her new fl page. Thats twice now another 8 times to go yet to see if the time is right. Noooooo, I dont think so hun.Grin

ah I recently learnt how the pay for all these incentives and holidays when the do team meetings etc. All these 'extra' weekend training sessions we have seen in various places around the midlands are chargeable around £15 per time, you put 2000 people in the room, you have some money left over in the post after room hire. The pot of money pays for all the incentives and prices that top bots put out to their downline. Its not coming out of their pockets, its coming out of all of their downlines ticket purchases.

Patzy85 · 10/02/2016 23:21

Dadandmum - I've noticed a lot of bots receive incentives that are FL products bought by a bot in their upline who needs to make up the CCs for their promotion to manager. Things like C9s, Sonya make up collection and F.I.T or Vital packs - the big ticket items.

Basically buying their own promotion.

dadandmum · 10/02/2016 23:26

Oh that just done on the margin on what they get back on your sales, plus their discount, its costs pence for the odd bottle of hand lotion. I think I worked it out that with the money you made on each C9 you sold, signing them up as a distributor to give them 15% off the RRP, you got a kick back from FLP on bonus pay, your upline got a kick back too, and you made the margin on the product, so a C9 cost in reality about £30ish, you have to normally sell two or more and it costs them nothing in reality. Plus more CC's under their belt.

cozietoesie · 10/02/2016 23:32

...I think she is yet to break even...

So not even any money to feed and clothe herself?

Patzy85 · 10/02/2016 23:40

She still works full time cozie, she hasn't sacked the boss!

BSintolerant · 10/02/2016 23:43

Mrgrumpy I misread that and thought you said "They all have identical goats" - which would explain the barn obsession! Wink

Thank you to those of you for sharing how long it took for you to get out of these awful mlm schemes.

If it wasn't for these threads and Eye's blog I might have been in danger of being lured back in at a later date (I sent back my FL box of shite within 14 days). At the time I was hoping my suspicions about FL were unfounded and my friend (who has got sucked in) would be very successful and prove me wrong. You guys have made me realise that my suspicions were just the steaming taper at the top of a very big pyramid-shaped turd (which stinks to high heaven). Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Do you think you'd have got out sooner if you'd discovered discussions like this and TV earlier on, or would it have made you more determined to prove the so-called negative haters wrong?

Also, when you quit, did anyone from your upline get in touch to try to persuade you to keep on going, or to give you grief?

As for a top bot for referring to some bots as "pond life" that is disgraceful. Was that said by the bot who shares her name with a water-dwelling segmented worm which sucks blood?

cozietoesie · 10/02/2016 23:44

Her 'organisation' will blame her for her failure then - lack of belief, commitment and hard work selling the product. It's a charade.

cozietoesie · 10/02/2016 23:47

Ah - I was trying to remember that quote. (I recalled that it was mean and uncaring but not the exact words.)

Petrolhead1 · 10/02/2016 23:55

do your have any actual facts on the knobhead? £19k seems a lot?

worcestersauce29 · 11/02/2016 00:18

range rover evoque available on lease for less than £300 per month, not quite the dream is it????

It all makes sense now....

cozietoesie · 11/02/2016 07:46

Ah - thick eyebrows.

Leaving aside the spurious claims, they're going to be royally snookered when fashions change aren't they?

Motorheadmum · 11/02/2016 07:48

This all makes a lot more sense now. I wondered my FL bot didn't give up when myself and others ignored her and why she's still posting all the time... The 10 times exposure thing... It doesn't make me want to hear anymore just to shut it out. Also when she started she was giving away loads as 'prizes' on her page. I did join one of her online evenings to show her support but I don't think one person bought anything..

cozietoesie · 11/02/2016 08:03

The MLM system is largely based on fellow feeling and obligation. No-one likes to feel that they're being used by someone else but, essentially, you're just another 'mark' to the distributor. Another box ticked.

BSintolerant · 11/02/2016 08:07

Cubic Do you think your upline's tactics to try to stop you from quitting were the result of brainwashing or Is there separate training / brainwashing in how to handle those who want to quit?

Do some top bots really take their team fantasy house hunting? Wow! That takes batshit nuts to a whole new level!

My friend really has lost the plot. She posted a selfie with a luxury car pretending it was hers. Sad

cozietoesie · 11/02/2016 08:12

The thing about Tax and VAT returns is not just whether you end up owing them money but simply that you have to do them. They're appalling.

cozietoesie · 11/02/2016 08:16

Why do people aspire to cars so much?

In fact, why do people want to imitate others? I've never understood that. I can understand not wanting to stand out too much, but this slavish adoration which they seem to peddle is alien to me.
