penny don't feel bad. I think their techniques push people to behave in ways they would never normally behave Angry

I found a new network marketing company on a local selling page tonight; Zurvita. Never heard of them before. It was the same old recruitment drive. The wellness powder is a bargain though at £48.50 for 30 days supply. Wink

IAm
Yes I work with Data Protection. Any data controller who collects personal information is supposed to make it clear to you what is going to be done with it, what it will be used for. Each FL business owner would be a data controller in their own right as they are collecting the info for their own use. If you ask for your info not to be passed on they should adhere to this. They should also keep it secure and not ask for more than is necessary. They should also only keep it for as long as needed. A lot of the info they hold is sensitive personal data e.g regarding illness or pregnancy so passing that on without consent is an even more massive no-no. Any complaints to the ICO would have to be against the individual business owner.

I've been blocked on Facebook by CS. Never having commented on either of her pages I can only assume she's blocking people who've commented on the Timeless Vie page.

20thcenturyschizoidwoman · 31/01/2016 00:45

Me too Grin

I am blocked by CS EC and NS.

PP is right it doesn't seem to be as big here in Scotland. However, I think it's going to kick off soon.

Natalie Valenti, the one with the stolen Audi at Christmas, has apparently reached Sapphire (don't know what that means). She lives not that far from me and we have one friend in common on FB.

There was some presentation yesterday with a load of people packed into a hall with a projector screen and the previous weekend some bash at the SECC

I don't think it'll be long till it is all over my Facebook

rayofhope · 31/01/2016 07:22

CS removes her page at night. Though really can't see the benefit.

I never passed any names onto my upline. They didn't need to know. A clever trick you're told to do is download your own fb friends list, instantly you could have hundreds of names on your wdyk list.

Seriously, anyone on fb should hide their friends list. CS admitted on fb that she recruited someone from her friends fb list. (Easy to start conversation as you can say you're a friend of such and such). Once they've gone through their own list, some of them move on to friends lists.

Quinoa20 · 31/01/2016 08:01

CS has blocked me and I have never interacted with her page, just liked the odd TV post.

AbolishFlobots · 31/01/2016 08:21

Just to show MN readers the power 'MLM' racketeers hold over the mainstream media in the USA.

www.wsj.com/articles/probes-of-ackman-and-herbalife-fizzle-1454111460

This blatantly biased article appeared 2 days ago in the Wall St. Journal (a Murdoch owned paper). The amoral journalists, Christopher Mathews and David Benoit, completely ignore the victims of 'Herbalife' racket, and imply that they have knowledge that no criminal prosecution will be pursued against 'Herbalife' because FBI agents and criminal prosecutors can find no evidence of criminal activity. Yet, as far as I'm aware, no official announcement has been made to that effect. Furthermore, a whole hat-full of civil, and criminal, investigations into the 'Herbalife' racket are ongoing in the USA, including those pursued by the FTC, SEC and several State Atorneys General. So far, more than 1000 victims have come forward to file complaints. The WSJ article mentions the civil investigations in passing as though they are not really that serious and might all soon vanish because Herbalife is co-operating with investigators and has employed former state, and federal, senior law enforcement agents to represent the company

The article first focuses on 'Herbalife's' malicious criminal accusations of market manipulation against Bill Ackman and Pershing Squae capital (which have definitely been dismissed by the FBI and NY prosecutors), making it appear to casual observers that the ongoing 'Herbalife' saga is just a dispute between billionaire Wall St. Traders over a commercial enterprise, which has nothing to do with the public.

Recently it was announced that the only mainstream American financial journalist who has been reporting the 'Herbalife' saga accurately, has been fired. This is Michelle Celarier of the 'New York Post' (a Murdoch owned paper)

I liked some TV posts and commented on one in nicer words what a total fucking fanny that lassy in the jacuzzi looks like and how cringe it is. After reading about all the blocks, I went and had a nosey. Not seeing any CS type bots. Fuck sakes love if that is true then how honest and great is your business if you have to take those steps? 😬

RainOhJoyus · 31/01/2016 09:41

Blocking everyone on the TV like list can easily be done in your 15hours of work a week hun.

darceybussell · 31/01/2016 10:15

Haha the blog mentioned above has a 'bad argument generator' for people trying to stick up for their beloved MLMs. I liked this a lot, it covers all of them!

darceybussell The author of the linked-Blog has also styled himself as the 'Devil's Advocate of MLM.' On the one hand he has produced apparently insightful material like the piece you found, but on the other, he has insisted that not all 'MLM' are frauds, and that people who have said so have no evidence to support their bad argument, and are essentially the same as 'MLM' fanatics.

LikeBigBotsAndICannotLie · 31/01/2016 10:46

I have just found a few more companies that seem to be MLMs.

They came up on my Facebook feed via a friend of a friend, I don't know the person involved. One is Body by Vi and the other is Jeunesse. The language and claims seem very similar to FL. Has anyone heard of them?
