hello,

Ive got and completed the forms for council tax benefit. However they wont be processed until feb and feb and march are the free months.

Is there any point sending them off now as come april i might not need it?

Yes, if you are entitled to benefit it will be applied to your total bill for the financial the year (April '15 to March ’16) and will be applied to your council tax account. This means you should get a refund if you are entitled to some benefit but have paid all your council tax for the year Smile

The 'free months' happen because they split the 12 month bill over 10 months of payments, it's not actually 2 'free' months iysim. I think they do this in case people get behind and need to catch up in feb and march. HTH.
