error Loads of letters sent out in error saying you owe £371 by April 2001.

I'm trying to work out if I worked that period or not. Going to wait until after xmas and then see if it is true or not.

iota if you are a sahm, check that you are covered by Home Responsibilites Allowance.Usually if you are staying at home looking after children, your contributions are made for you for a certain period. The IR should be able to confirm if you are covered or not.

I had one of these letters last year, because I didn't work for 2 months after my maternity leave ended. It was pretty rubbish, saying that they couldn't tell me whether my future pension woud be affected or not,& it was my choice as to whether I paid it or not.I rang the helpline & no one could tell me whether not paying it could affect anything,so I didn't.I figured that I'd been working & paying in for more than 20 years already,so 2 months won't make much difference. What a waste of time.
