Still continuing the discussion of the various network marketing schemes or multi-level marketing schemes (MLMs) that people we know are involved in.

If you have an MLM bot of your own then join us and share their claims and content.

Or if you are researching a company before signing up to be a network marketer please take a look at the previous threads here and here and also this thread which delves deeper into the workings of MLMs.

And don't forget our very own MN MLM Timeless Vie!

i've always liked having 2 threads: one for very very serious mlm talk and one for haha look at what crazy shit they're saying now. it's fine that people like different things. some people, like me, work better with pictures and one syllable words Grin

i'm personally not bothered by the mainstream media not picking up the issue - there's a lot of stuff we minions can do and we don't have to answer to anyone but ourselves. and clearly, the elites have had zero impact on the mlms in the past. i'm with lazy - we can, and are, being effective in the trenches. huge jump in numbers for the blog in the past week and i'm seeing more shares too.

i have another idea for kicking things up a notch. stay tuned.

sminkypink · 06/01/2016 23:56

I thinK that pointing out how absurd their behaviour is by pulling bits and pieces out of context and putting them here, makes others really begin to understand what is going on. Makes them realise that their friend is following a script. And I Still haven't got over seeing the bra and pants bot. Although the very ill looking man in a hospital, being forced to hold a sucessday hastag. That was a new (a)low....

bettyberry · 07/01/2016 06:36

I agree. It's using their behaviours against them and it works.

I've seen bots post pics of shopping bags saying they've spent all their surplus income on a girls day out.

I've seen videos very similar to those unboxing ones where bots are showing off what their income can buy but when you look at it its not that impressive.

I have a suspicion that one of my bots has bought shopping bags of big name stores (harrods, designer brands etc) and just randomly brings them out for photos.

youre right about going abroad. Not that impressive or expensive! Million hop onto planes every week.

The car thing is absurd. If I posted a photo of the OHs new car (well, it's old, looks flashy not that expensive iyswim) I'd be ripped into for boasting.

On the white car thing. Why are they always white? Well, White is usually the cheapest paint colour. Metallic paints can easily slap another 2-3k on the car price. I bet they are all very basic too. None of those luxury extras like leather interiors. It looks flashy but it really isn't. If you look hard enough and aren't overly impressed with this sort of stuff anyway ;) it's easy to see

I do wonder if it's because a fair number here are self employed any way so it's glaringly obvious??

As for the car plans. Am I right that the bots get money towards the car on a standard HP type arrangement? So if they stop, earnings dry up etc the car can be repossessed like any regular broken finance agreement?

There just seems to be so many carrots within the company people can't see the reality too. It's like a kids reward chart. Do this. Yay sticker!

These MLMs have an almost constant stream of 'stickers' from promotions that mean nowt to car plans, back slapping success days where you pay to get your 'sticker'. Giant cheques.

Timeless vie needs a reward chart but I wonder if the idea would be lost haha

Excuse my 6am rambling

stopfaffing · 07/01/2016 07:09

I note in the video clip that EC says at 3 minutes that both her and husband resigned from by Police? I'd read that somewhere, can that be confirmed?

stopfaffing · 07/01/2016 07:19

At about 6 minutes she says that she doesn't take any time off and I can believe that totally. She has to keep juggling all those balls and keep up the momentum to continue signing up downlines and cultivate the ones she already has in order to keep her position on the hierarchy.

No time off, ever. The stress and anxiety all the time, the pressure all the time. Yes, it is really selling it to me Hmm.

And added to that the lies and deceit she has to continually practise to others, bigger and bigger lies, more elaborate.

darceybussell · 07/01/2016 07:28

I'm sure I heard her speak somewhere where she said 4 days after she gave birth she was driving up and down the country speaking to new prospects - so much for doing FL so you don't have to go back to work after mat leave - I'd be fuming if my employer only gave me 4 days of maternity leave!

stopfaffing · 07/01/2016 07:30

At about 10.18 she says "I will only sponsor someone who says I will do whatever it takes, for however long it takes, to succeed".

Yes indeed, MLM companies need people like that, people who will continue to pump in their own money every month; people who are prepared to lie about medical benefits of the products; people who are prepared to target the vulnerable and exploit them if it gets them the CCs; people who are happy to exploit family and friend relationships to gain their CCs; people who will knowingly post lies on fb in order to entice others to join their downlines to be as successful.

stopfaffing · 07/01/2016 07:42

My earlier comment about EC and husband resigning from police. I missed a bit out. Basically I thought I'd read somewhere that he had taken a sabbatical but could stlll return to the Police force. Can that be confirmed?

Toobusytowee · 07/01/2016 08:12

Stop gagging, I'm not sure I'd want police officers who have an altered sense of reality and are happy to lie for money.

A pp asked about the car plan- it's just money towards whatever they want. They could just save it if they want. But yes, if they arrange finance and then rely on the payments for a car and the payments stop because they aren't achieving their 150cc, they could lose the car.

penny1ane · 07/01/2016 08:18

I'm pretty sure she is happy to sign anyone up. People don't know what it takes to build a business in flp because you lie and tell them it's part time.
If she told potential recruits she works all hours every day of the week I don't think it would sound as appealing to them.
I was always pretty happy to sign almost anyone up. When you sign a new recruit It gives you a new warm contact list and free fb advertising space.
I never did the fake it till you make it. There were some things I would be willing to do but that just wasn't me. I was happy to tell people that I was still building my business around other full time commitments.
I can see how it helps your business. My fb was full of people I had met in the street to talk about the business. I'm pretty sure more of them would have signed up if I had pics of large cheques, fancy car and a big house.

"I had an amazing, incredible sleep boss babes! Why? Because unlike the boring, modest, hard working, tax paying public- I got to have a lie in with no alarm set! 8 whole mind blowing hours of sleep! I'm defiantly (they can tell the difference between defiantly and definitely) not leaving my awesome bed, I'm working in my beautifully, cosy pj's!! Have a great day huns! #bossbabe #workfromhome #sacktheboss #Imanamazingtwat

Eyespying · 07/01/2016 09:36

Rudechoob This is typical 'MLM' mafiosi 'wise-guy' behaviour.

In the past, I've been criticised for comparing 'MLM' bosses to 'Mafia' bosses, but did you know that (originally) criminal extortion/protection racket gangs in S. italy had no names and that the term, 'Mafia,' was gradually adopted to describe all of them, because of their members strangely identical behaviour.

'Mafia' comes from an old Sicillian word (of Arab origin), 'mafiusu,' meaning 'to boast' or 'swagger' or 'to be big headed.'

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia

It seems that in the 19th century, almost every S. Italian village, town and city acquired its own local gang of 'mafiosi' (i.e. well-dressed young men who sat about in the bars lording it over, and laughing at, the odinary working people, and business owners, whom their bosses preyed on).

bettyberry · 07/01/2016 09:38

Toobusytowee that's a bit clearer. I couldn't work out if they money towards it was through FL buying the cars wholesale and then selling them on to distributors or if they were sort of leased out like a company car then you paid a lump sum after a number of years so you owned it out right.

Just thinking to how relatives have purchased cars via the companies they work for (NOT MLMs) one leased his car for around 3 years then had the option to buy it out right for a very reduced fee. Another just bought a van via their company because they were upgrading the fleet to larger vans so staff were offered first dibs on the vehicles they were going to sell on.

bettyberry · 07/01/2016 09:41

Rudechoob right about the amazing twat bit...

Eyespying · 07/01/2016 09:52

'You still can still qualify for a 'Forever New Car' even when, in the worst- case scenario, everyone, but one person, quits you're group?'

Would never ever work out like that!!

rayofhope · 07/01/2016 10:18

for eyes video

Claregeorgina1 · 07/01/2016 10:24

So apart from the £200 for starter pack , does my friend have to pay out anymore per month to keep up this charade

Eyespying · 07/01/2016 10:28

rayofhope The 'FLP car plan' video is emblematic of the entire racket, because although (to casual onservers) it can appear to make perfect sense, when you know the hidden, effectively 100%, churn/insolvency rate of the so-called 'FLP' income opportunity, the video's content is revealed as thought-stopping hocus-pocus.

rayofhope · 07/01/2016 10:29

She'll be encouraged to start using all the products herself. Some of the top guys tell you to buy a c9 and do it straight away so you can start talking about that to everyone too (no point recommending a product if you've not used it, eh!) We were told we should be using at least 0.5 to 1CC per month personal (become your own best customer)

She'll be told that 4cc per month is the building blocks for a successful business plus if you want to get paid on your team (after your first promotion) you NEED to do at least 4cc to be paid on them.

But you are also told it's not compulsory to do 4cc (you're not tied into it) but if you want to make money from your team you need to do it.

Eyespying · 07/01/2016 10:38

Claregeorgina1 If your friend persists, he/she will have to pay all of her operating expenses. He/she will be told that in order to achieve total financial freedom, he/she must 'duplicate a step-by-step gusiness building plan' which will require him/her to purchase a quota of wampum products each month and attempt to recruit others to 'duplicate the same plan,' etc., ad infinitum.

Recordings, publications, tickets to meetings, will also be regularly peddled to your friend on the fraudulent pretext that these 'optional materials' contain 'exclusive secrets' vital to 'achieving success in MLM.'

A more accurate description of so-called 'MLM income opportunites' is: a camouflaged invitation to commit social, psychological and financial suicide.
