Still continuing the discussion of the various network marketing schemes or multi-level marketing schemes (MLMs) that people we know are involved in.

If you have an MLM bot of your own then join us and share their claims and content.

Or if you are researching a company before signing up to be a network marketer please take a look at the previous threads here and here and also this thread which delves deeper into the workings of MLMs.

And don't forget our very own MN MLM Timeless Vie!

What do we know about Scentsy? A bot has just joined over in MrsGloss&TheGoss on FB and my initial thought is ... Candles?

McNo · 01/01/2016 19:49

I'm really enjoying reading this thread, still confused with how CC's work.

The bots I have on my Facebook have been busy trying to persuade people to join them on the C2 which starts on January 4th. They have managed to get a couple of people to sign up for it. When u see what they get for £100 it's laughable a plastic cup some gel and supplements.

Does anyone have a link that explains how the bonus and CC systems work?

CheekySmile · 01/01/2016 20:17

McNo There's a product list with all of the CC values of their items here
The bonus system is more complicated. If you have 16 minutes of your life to give up then

This whole market is fascinating and terrifying in equal measure.
An old school friend sells DoTerra essential oils which I was initially interested in as I am becoming more interested in aromatherapy but the prices are eye-watering. I've done a bit of digging and suspect this is also an MLM. It makes me sad because she's one of the loveliest people I know and a devout Mormon so you'd hope she wasn't in the business of ripping people off Confused

givemecheese · 01/01/2016 21:05

Have you seen that Skibot has posted a video on her fb page......

fastdaytears · 01/01/2016 21:11

devout Mormon so you'd hope she wasn't in the business of ripping people off confused There's a strong Mormon/MLM connection IIRC. I think it's something to do with Amway.

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 01/01/2016 21:20

I didn't know that fastway. God it's all just so insidious isn't it?

sminkypink · 01/01/2016 21:33

Ok, we're pwned, shes there, but still.....why the stockshot photo?

McNo · 01/01/2016 21:33

Thank you Cheekysmile

Annie65 · 01/01/2016 21:35

Just seen skibots video, what do you think folks, is it legit? The plot thickens....... She just seems to be keeping a low profile about the holiday for a Flbot. Confused

McNo · 01/01/2016 21:38

Wow it takes a lot of selling to get a CC. Thanks again for that link. I mostly see the bots selling toothpaste. Need to sell a ton of toothpaste to meet the target

Yep McNo when they get 2CC for recruiting someone to their team it's a real no-brainer whether to sell or recruit...

My guess is that skibot is in Bulgaria.

LittleMissStubborn · 01/01/2016 22:29

Why wasn't she just honest in the first place though? All she had to do was upload a picture of the actual view.

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 01/01/2016 22:59

I'm guessing because she'd rather imply she's in Verbier or somewhere like that.

LittleMissStubborn · 01/01/2016 23:27

No wonder they push the fit packs. 1customer=1 cc. I wonder how long that is for. Does one need to buy that every month ?

Honestly these people are nuts. A FL bot just posted a picture of a cheque --- whoo!! But all the amounts are blanked out. I'm guessing it's for feck all.

Someone I worked with 5 years ago who lived from pay day loan to pay day loan (I gave her £50 for her birthday it was that bad) is repping for Jeunesse since taking redundancy a year ago and fair play, just spent 2 months in Thailand but ffs she isn't making that by hawking Jeunesse - she's blown her redundancy and got credit. But it's not stopping her from posting about her "financial freedom"on Facebook and peddling this shit out trying to recruit more people into her "amazing team".

Gimlet1984 · 02/01/2016 02:03

The Q&A video Xenu linked is scary to listen to. The question of is it pyramid selling just seemed like a big joke to them. Similar mantras repeated throughout culminating in Jayne Leach saying "The only people who fail is those who quit" The business model is a joke.

Recruiting two people is worth 4cc which in retail sales is over £800 worth of stock plus you also get a bonus for each person recruited. You wouldn't waste time trying to sell thousands of tubes of toothpaste when you can just sign people up. It's clearly more profitable to recruit and thus is unsustainable in the long run.

I wish this company could be investigated properly and shut down but they seem to know all the loopholes to stay afloat. Hopefully things like timeless vie and calling the bots out on their bullshit can help people from being led astray and this scheme slowly collapses from the lack of new members.

stopfaffing · 02/01/2016 08:37

I wish this company could be investigated properly and shut down
Gimlet, sadly even if these MLM companies are closed down, the people who were at the head of them just set up another one.

A recent MLM, Wake Up Now , closed down in USA and reopened a couple of weeks later with the same President Jason Elrod, as Disrupt.

BoGrainger · 02/01/2016 10:37

Joanna's bf is also part of it. Just a carbon copy of Emma Cooper and other half. Makes fascinating but slightly sad reading

Laura2006 · 02/01/2016 13:54

My FL bot is currently spamming my social media feed with news of her decision to undertake another Clean 9. She's also taking part in a 'challenge' called The Drop and keeps urging people to #ask now or #join in Hmm
