Continuing the discussion of the various network marketing schemes or multi-level marketing schemes (MLMs) that people we know are involved in.

If you have a bot of your own then join us and share what they are saying!

Or if you are researching a company before signing up to be a network marketer please take a look at the previous bot watch thread and also this thread which delves deeper into the workings of MLMs.

And don't forget our very own MN MLM Timeless Vie!

(knickernicker* there is so much about that post that boils my piss Angry, and to top it all they want family and friends to top up their egos by buying vastly overprice crap, to make them feel better. Aaarrrghhh!

On another note I managed to borrow the file I mentioned yesterday that had been left in the staffroom by a fl-bot who has a stall at our upcoming Christmas Fayre.

I wanted to type up the small nearly illegible print on the back page of the booklet; it is very interesting.

The first lot of small print is in white letters and is easier to read, here it is...

Forever is a financially stable company, cash-rich and debt-free. Trading for over 35 years, Forever has a presence in over 150 countries worldwide. With Forever being members of the Direct Selling Association (DSA), and with IIP accreditation, Distributors have access to uncapped earnings, generous incentives, bonus and reward programmes, extensive training and support, and high quality products. If you want flexible hours, extra income, to be your own boss and to improve your life, then why wait? Discover how great a venture Forever is and begin the rest of your life.

The small, small print (in grey letters and so really hard to decipher) in the next paragraph is as follows...

It is illegal for a promoter or a participant in a trading scheme to persuade anyone to make a payment by promoting benefits from getting others to join a scheme. Do not be misled by claims that high earnings are easily achieved. At Forever nobody receives money for just getting someone to join us but we do reward our Distributors for the time, support and training they give to those who join their team.

It looks like I will be unlikely to have time to see other stalls, including the fl one as I have seen my itinerary for tomorrow. I am guessing that the stall will have a "free draw for a gift" where people will leave their names, addresses, telephone numbers so she will get a lot of potential downlines to call later Hmm.

The high pay sales claims totally slay me. When I worked in the megabucks sports trade, our most well paid reps might make £100k a year, but the amount of clothing and footwear they'd have to shift to make that would be phenominal, millions of pieces. The figures just don't stack ip, do they? You have no chance of that lifestyle selling cream to your nan.

Hello! Sorry been AWOL for a while but pleased to report from having zero bottage I am currently enjoying an embarrassment of riches! TWO Younique bots AND tomorrow I am a stall holder at a Christmas fair - the stall next to me is....a forever living stall! And yes, she's recruiting...

As always though she's lovely and seems really quite genuine - but I definitely cut her off a couple of times today when we were setting up.

A friend of a friend (not someone I even remotely know) has tried to add me as a friend on FB, she's clearly a Bot (lots of embarrassing photos of her tummy and thighs on her profile. Tempted to add her but I don't add randoms on Facebook - such a dilemma.

I shall now go back and see what I have missed.

Twunk · 26/11/2015 22:16

Oh going back to the "parsley doesn't get cancer" - I coined that on the TV FB page - I was referring to DS2 having leukaemia. Sorry I didn't mean to offend but honestly it was just exaggerating the ridiculous claims these charlatans make with their snake oil.

lastuseraccount123 · 26/11/2015 22:22

i really like that line and we're keeping it, dang it.

lastuseraccount123 · 26/11/2015 23:09

fwiw i have a family member dying of cancer.

Twunk · 27/11/2015 05:57

So sorry lastuser Flowers

If I was a bot I might now be offering some aloe for that... Hmm

sminkypink · 27/11/2015 08:33

One of my friends has breast cancer, it has spread. None of us know if she can beat this or not. I think she's thoroughly fed up of people telling her she can cure it with smoothies. She's furious enough about some of the patronising breast cancer campaigns. I think if anyone tried to push their aloe shite on her she'd be pouring it over their heads.

rayofhope · 27/11/2015 09:37

Woken up to find a few friends have become younique bots. Has anyone here actually tried their makeup?

sminkypink · 27/11/2015 09:54

I got invited to two 'lash bashes' on Facebook, I just baulked at the £20 price point.

BrianCoxReborn · 27/11/2015 10:02

Not sure if this has been discussed.....My friend was doing the Younique thing. She bought set-up kit and set about making her FB page.

She did it because "it would fit in around the children" (both under 6yo).

She sold a few bits online and then had a party at home (although this was frowned upon as its supposed to be online only)

Put the order in. Her cut was £30.

Younique now won't pay her because she can't provide photographic ID. She doesn't drive and has no passport. They're saying that without photo ID she can't prove she's been a UK resident since birth.

She's provided them with NI number, birth certificate and a security ID from a charity (nationally recognized) she volunteers for.

But that's not good enough. They suggested she buy a Citizen Card. At a cost of £30. Hmm

Scammy bastards.

Tupperwarelid · 27/11/2015 13:34

My bots are really pushing the black Friday thing. Lots of "bargins" to be had.

lastuseraccount123 · 27/11/2015 15:36

brian that's gross. bastids.

Twunkthank you.

I've been diligently collecting the material all of you are providing. I have a few more posts planned, including the Reasons Why You Should Not Join an MLM (unless anyone can think of a better title). one of them is on the BS health claims, another on the drive to recruit. Some of the stuff you guys have found is GOLD, mate. pure bot-watch gold. Keep going! Grin

stopfaffing · 27/11/2015 15:36

brian that's outrageous. They obviously didn't need photographic evidence for her to sell loads of their stuff though Angry.

Just back from our Fayre, no fl stall in evidence.

lastuseraccount123 · 27/11/2015 15:39

DANG faff. I am a bot disappointed.

get it? get it? instead of bit, I said bot. har har. I'm hilarious Grin

sminkypink · 27/11/2015 15:55

I found my mlm bots linked in. I note she used to 'do' the wraps, for just one year, she became an ultra super duper whoop de doop crystal manager. Jacked it in last December for Forever Living. Only just became a manager or that about a month ago. but nothing diamond encrusted yet, no glitter. Wonder if, despite all her social media guff, she'll jack this in too. Maybe that's why she's changed her business page to 'global leader and mentor'. Wonder if her husband is bankrolling it all? On one of the mlm exposure blogs some poor husband is complaining, that despite his wife being a double sapphire manager and spending two years at it, she still hasn't made a penny out of it. She's already done the tarantula leg mascara, briefly, what will she do next? In the meantime, keep posting up that white Land Rovers hun.

rayofhope · 27/11/2015 18:42

sminkypink do you know which blog that was? Would love to read it

Twunk · 27/11/2015 19:55

My FL Christmas Fair bot seemed to do well today but I noticed she was offering "30% off" (wouldn't that be her whole commission?). She's really lovely - utterly personable and sweet. My friend knows her pretty well. I just wanted to shake her and say "IT'S A MASSIVE CON!" but I just chatted pleasantly, because well...she's nice and to be honest I was really busy selling all the bunting and stockings I'd made. I can't see her recruiting anyone though, thankfully.

sminkypink · 27/11/2015 21:48

rayofhope here, scroll all the way down, way past the mlm bots defensive comments rhysmorgan.co/multilevel-marketing/

Siwi · 27/11/2015 22:00

Great site Smink.

Twunk · 27/11/2015 22:36

Smirk that perfectly sums it up recently. That poor chap and his poor wife - I hope she has seen the light

shirleyknotanotherbot · 28/11/2015 07:46

May be sent to Coventry but we have joined UW - seems that we will save money (on light bulbs at the very least). No mention of us recruiting others, I think they'd rather keep any potential business for themselves?

Am also attending a friend's aloe party on Wednesday. However, as (unlike gas & electricity) I have no need for aloe, I will not be joining anything.

Siwi · 28/11/2015 10:57

I had woman's hour on yesterday and they ended with a sort of 'tell us what you want to talk about' bit.

Fl etc DO appear to target vulnerable women.
I think wh might be interested?

stopfaffing · 28/11/2015 13:18

shireley I use UW for broadband and until recently for gas and elec and mob phone. Got really good deals with other companies and switched no problem. I have always found them a good company, no complaints.

stopfaffing · 28/11/2015 15:59

sminky at the end of all the comments of your rhys link is another link that is worth reading davidjwbailey.com/2014/03/10/how-do-you-tell-your-friends-the-truth-about-mlm-schemes/
