Life insurance

Due to recent circumstances I have realised I really should have sorted out life insurance, but I really don't know where to start. Are there safe website that can guide me to the best policies or should I go to a broker ? Also can you get life insurance once you have had a serious illness ? (DP has recently been diagnosed with cancer)

The best place (that I know of) to go for an easy introduction and for pointers on how to get the best quotes is on Money Saving Expert. www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/cheap-life-insurance

Sorry to hear about the cancer diagnosis.

They ask about medical history, so recent cancer may mean they decline or ask for a higher premium. (It's worth shopping around if the first insurer turns you down). If he's actually got cancer at the moment, depending on what it is, I would have thought it's quite likely they will just say no - sorry, but obviously, no insurer is going to provide cover if there is a high likelihood that they will have to pay out soon after.

Thank you, I realise that DP won't be able to get cover now, but am hoping once he is better he can sort it out.
