Hi, a few years ago I stupidly took out a loan with my bf at the time but in my name. He was meant to pay it off with me but obviously didn't and we broke up. I took him to court and got a court order against him so he was having payments taken out of his wages. Recently he has become self employed and the payments stopped.
Through communication with the court he offered to pay me a much less amount a month which I accepted and was meant to of received that by the 19th. Rang the court today to see what was going on and they said my next option is to apply to send the bailiff's round but I have to pay 100pounds which will get added to his debt.
My worry is that they will go round and get nothing out of him, I can't imagine he owns much that isn't on finance.
Will it be likely I'm going to waste more money or has anyone else had a good outcome from a similar situation??

Since it's added to his debt , you might get it eventually. I have used a bailiff to get rid of non paying tenants. They were well versed in the art of moonlight flitting and left just ahead of the bailiff. So it worked. Thing is when someone is planning to not pay you what they owe, you not doing anything means you get nothing and they get off scott free. When a bailiff arrives will it affect his credit rating record? Would be logical as its a legal procedure. Worth finding out. For me it would be worth the $$ to scare the sob. And he's got to have a tv, computer, video games, electric shaver etc-hey this getting to be fun! Look at it as pay back+ entertainment and the money you retrieve as a bonus. Go for it -and get back to us with the results!

Yes. I got weekly reports of the bullshit the other side spouted. The bailiffs were tenacious.

On paper, the con-artist had nothing - not a bean.

Eventually I got a death threat from the recipient of the bailiff's attention.

I told him to piss off and put the phone down.

I got my money. The High Court Enforcement Officer's got their fees too - which were far greater than the sum I was seeking.

I'm still here telling you about it.

I gather he's still pissed off.

I did and they were very very good it was against a company though so easier to gain access to premises. they got me the money quite quickly but the company had the cas to pay me I'm not sure how it would be if the pay didn't.

It was a fair amount of cash to me and it had been after a quite upsetting court case, they were so kind and reassuring. I organised it through the council or courts it wasn't a private company I don't think.
