I've been asked if I'd like to train as a magistrate & thought I'd better ask you for the low down.

I don't know much about it at all, apart from the fact that you sit a certain number of days a year & get full training.

I am self employed & work part time,& pretty much choose the hours & days I work. What I'm wondering is how much time the training/courses ect all take & what I'd do about childcare whilst training?

It sounds really interesting & I'd love to do it,but don't want to take on too much & end up letting people down.

Any advice or comments that you have would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks everyone.I like the idea of wearing good outfits-my current workwear is ex army trousers & layers of fleece.I'm a good few years off 50,but can do a good 'stern look' over the top of my glasses.
