Okay, I know generally people do this themselves, leaving put the expensive middle man but with my particular circumstances I think I'd be better off using a company. So, who has used a company to trace ppi and would you recommend? Tia

use Money Saving Expert for the template letters - it is v simple. The companies charge 25% - why pay them all that when you can so easily do it yourself?

DelGirl · 15/08/2015 16:25

Thanks. I've been on mse but can't download the template. It's complicated, as in my circumstances are, and I think it's better that I go through a company I think.

All that the company do is post you out the same forms, you still have to complete them yourself, then they forward them on to the relevant companies. For this they take (up to) 50% of what you have claimed.

Do you want to elaborate on why it's more complicated, see if anyone can assist you?

Well I'm not certain of the loans etc in the past and those that may relate to my late husbands estate of which i'm executor so thought they'd do the leg work so to speak

They only work on the information that you give them. If you are not sure of what loans you had, the Claims Company won't be able to find out for you.

mindyourown15 · 19/08/2015 09:48

you should post on MSE and ask for help tbh. I don't see why you would pay anyone such a massive chunk when you can so easily claim yourself.

Ok will do, thank you Smile
