DH and I have decided on a stakeholder fund (I like to play things on the safe side) we're going to split mone between trust fund and a national savings account because thought of giving an 18 year old £36K doesn't sound like a good option. Anyone recommend a provider

NOt too clued up on banks but we choose stakeholder with dd. However we also have a ds who is too old for Childrens Trust Fund (he is 4) so we started an ISA so that we have money for them both when they turn 18.

I just sent off my application for the Yorkshire Building Society today. Am also opening childrens savings account so that grandparents or whoever can add money. I didn't want them to add money to her CTF account because I may decide the money is needed for special 'extras' - if she decides to play an instrument, has a talent in sport etc so wanted to be able to withdraw money before the age of 18 .
