Tax credits stopped, no explanation

I get paid on a Tuesday, and since I had to leave my job we rely on the money. I didn't get paid. Called the helpline, got through after 3 hours, to be told it was because my renewal pack was on the way. I queried that, as my money has never stopped before. I was put on hold, then told they could see what the problem was and would put me through to the right department. They then hung up Angry

I've been trying since then to get through again. I either get "we're very busy right now please call back" or go on hold (longest has been 1.5 hours before I gave up)

The advisor did say my renewal pack had been sent on 18th of this month, should it be here by now?

You will need to do renewal and a change of circumstances(current tax year income).

You may actually be able to do both online- once you receive your renewal form. Last year only renewals without changes were allowed online last yr but apparently now you can do changes- I've not done his mysef or had a dummy run so please don't quote me on this though.

When I rang to query why my payments had suddenly reduced to £50 this month, I was told they had received my P60 from my employer at the end of the tax year and adjusted my payments and I might even have been overpaid last year.

They said they had sent my renewal pack two weeks ago but I still haven't received it.

Well I've got my fingers crossed I can do the changed online, I never did get through today.

Hopefully it doesn't take too long to sort out, though I have managed to sort something in the meantime

Renewal pack finally came today, and it allowed me to do the change of circumstance online. So now just got to wait and see what happens, but I'm expecting my money to be reinstated as my income has dropped by £14,000

Ohmymg, if you're still around, can I ask, do I need to let them know if I start college? I've just got my place for September
