Appealing against a parking ticket

I was in the wrong but it was unintentional and I was in a flap about getting formula and nappies for my new baby and didnt check the restrictions.

Do I have a hope of being let off and how do I word it without sounding stupid?

In a word, nope. Not a hope in hell really, take it from someone who has tried - many times!!

no .. just pay it

Twiglett · 07/11/2006 15:41

I have had parking tickets cancelled when I've been in the right or when it hasn't been clear .. but you're not .. you parked illegaly and they don't care why .. just pay it and remember not to do it again

No chance.

Although my policy is to appeal if I ever feel I have any remote chance of getting let off, but it doesn't sound like you have any grounds to do so.

Just what I thought. DH thought I should try but its black and white in their eyes.

Grrr

Yes, the only times any of DH's have been let off was when he proved he was within the lines, and that had to be a picture (on his mobile) and the other time he was let off was when someone had spray painted the notice for restrictions.

Would like to add he isn't an ignorant tosser who parks will nilly, his job enforces him to park anywhere he can sometimes.

I was called into school once as dd3 was wheezing and I hadn't replaced her in-school inhaler.
As I was a bit panicky I just parked in the first place I could find but my back wheels were on a double yellow line.
I couldn't have been more than 10 minutes but I got a ticket. In my appeal I explained the circumstances and half-heartedly asked for 50% reduction as only half the car was in the no parking area. Fat chance.
