Virgin Money for mortgages?

We started our application in February, in March the valuation survey was done, we sent all the paperwork but were asked towards the end of March for something else which we sent off at the beginning of April, then they came back last Monday asking a question, we replied the same day, then they came back yesterday after another unrelated question, so we've replied. But what's really bothering me is why they couldn't ask all of this in one time and then by now we might've had a yes or no. It's really stressing me out now as the sellers want a quick sale, and we're first time buyers so this should theoretically be quick but because they're taking so longer to give us a yes, it's taking FOREVER.

Has anyone else had similar issues with virgin money and did they eventually get a mortgage offer?

We went to remortgage with Virgin money - like you the prelim stuff was all done very quickly but then it was question after question after question and needing more and more documentation. The only thing they didn't ask for was a blood sample ??????

After about 4 months of this ridiculous farce we got a mortgage offer which was based on a very low valuation of our property (know it was low based on similar houses that had sold in our area recently) so we decided to cut our losses and bin them.

Started the process again and had it all done and dusted within about 6 weeks.

Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole!!!!

Yes, I re-mortgaged with VM in October. It took about 6-8 weeks all-in-all, and like you they asked tons of questions, some sensible some idiotic, and parcelled them out piecemeal... Anyway, just as i was starting to want to bin them and start over again with another lender, the offer came through!

Keep the faith. Hope they get their skates on for you soon.
