We got a civil parking ticket from these people whilst shopping in the trafford centre, tbh we thought what a load of bollox and binned it but now we've had a letter threatening charges etc and firstly this must mean that the DVLA have sold our details to them and secondly do they have any legal right to fine us ???
TIA

Were there any signs in the car park at all? Did you need a ticket and overstayed or no ticket at all?
Were you packed in a "stupid" place, such as over two spaces etc when you didn't need to?

Our local Asdas make us pay £1 for two hours, which they give back if we spend more than £2 iyswim as it is in the centre of town.

Hi there - I got a similair thing quite recently -and got some very good advice here - you might want to have a skim through the thread, cos people posted some really good links, with more detail on the legal situation

I just tried to post a link and couldnt, but if you scroll down to a thread called Parking Fine Outrage! (seems a bit melodramatic now!) you will find it
