Why has our weekly amount of tax credits gone down?

Hi everyone. Last week I updated Child Tax Credits with our actual income (married with one child) for the year which was £16300. Ide well over estamated and told them our income would be £23000 at the beginning of the year. The lady on the phone said it looked like we were going to get a repayment and it would be made today. Anyway I just looked in the bank and only £30 has gone in (I recieve tax credits weekly) and I was getting £45 a week. Why has it gone down so much? I also haven't had a repayment. The calculator says we should be getting roughly £70 a week now based on that actual income. Does anyone know why this has happened or had it happen to them? I don't seem to be having much luck at the moment!

Sometimes when they do a cluster of payments over a week before it settles to a regular amount so it could be that there will be a few more odd payments first. Your award notice should arrive soon so hopefully it will clear everything up.
As long as nothing else changed eg hours worked etc then if you over estimated you usually get a lump sum after your renewal in summer.

Thanks, I'm still confused as the lady said it would be one lump sum put in the next time I recieved weekly tax credits (today) and that when I got the renewal pack through anytime from now just to ignore it...

Whenever I've received a repayment it's went in on a different day to the usual payment date so it might come in another day. Only a week ago is too soon for them to change anything, especially considering there was a holiday.

Your award notice from last year, does it say something like April 2014 weekly until March 2015 - £45. Then April 2015 onwards - £30?

It normally always goes down in April so it's likely they've just not changed anything with your claim yet.

Nope it said it was going to stay the same from april 2015 x
