Is it for a regular bank account? I dont think so. A credit check is only if you are borrowing.

Iloveonionchutney · 06/04/2015 18:08

If it's a regular account they won't, my dh and I have terrible credit but joined each other's accounts no problem.

They will probably do a residency check rather than a full credit check.

Do you have a CCJ in the last 6 years? That's the main reason they might refuse to add you to the account.

Nolim · 06/04/2015 18:09

What is a ccj?

cupcakesandapples · 06/04/2015 18:09

Depends on the bank. Some just add you on but others run a full credit check.

twirlypoo · 06/04/2015 18:16

I don't think they do a credit check, but by joining your account with your do you do realise you could affect his credit rating negatively don't you? I have terrible credit and so (if I wasn't single) I wouldn't be able to get a joint account for fear of affecting the other party.

It has an od facility of £400, dd facility, visa.
Ccj is county court judgement.
I had one more than 6 yrs ago.
I still owe 2 catalogues from years ago about 2-300 pounds each but have never paid them and no one ever chases me for payment.
