Sadly DH and I have decided to seperate this Summer. We have three children. DH is disabled. The best solution for us to begin with is for me to stay in the house with our children. He cannot however afford to rent somewhere with at least two rooms for when the children stay. I can't seem to find the right advice online so thought I would put it out there before we go to the CAB to see if anyone knew. Both our incomes are very low, DH is self employed and I work part time as am training for a new career.

His first stop should be the local housing authority who even if they don't have a council flat or house, will be able to help him with a deposit for a private rental from a list they keep.

Oh and if he can't afford the average rent in the area, then he will get housing benefit too.
