check your local boots to c if participating in pharmacy 1st.

free boots medication for common ailments.

have to have medical exemption card or benefits to be able to get boots on calpol ibuprofen etc cold n flu remedies.

it seems to be called the Minor Ailments Service here in Scotland and it's not just Boots that offers it as our local chemists offer it too.

I've been using this service for years at my local independent pharmacy. They have become a lot tighter recently about what they will give out, for example for colds they would give nasal spray, painkiller and sore throat lozenges. The last time I went a few months ago they would only give painkillers and said they were limited to just one item at a time. Still it's handy to know!

www.nhs.uk/livewell/pharmacy/pages/commonconditions.aspx or you can use it and just pay the usual prescription charge
