Executors of a will

Has anyone experience of removing an executor from a will? I'm buying a property inherited by 3 people. The property was their Mother's house and she passed away nearly 3 years ago. One of the executors is still living in the property, and although she agreed to marketing the property and allowing our survey to take place, she is being difficult about moving out. The other 2 executors have made the decision to have her removed as an executor and legally evicted, as they want the sale to procceed quickly. My question is, has anyone any knowledge of how long it takes to remove an executor?

I fear this will be a long and drawn out process as it could be far more complicated than just removing her as executor (not sure if this is even legally possible) - regardless of whether she is an executor or not, I think that it will be the eviction process that will take time. It will depend on who owns the property now, just because they are executors of their mothers will does not necessarily mean that they own the house now she has passed. My grandfather died in 1988 and appointed an executor to his will which included his house and even the beneficiaries of the estate cannot sell the house until the family members that live in the house decide they WISH to move, or die themselves...
