I recently submitted my tax return (late so received a penalty...) went from payment pending for a few days, the payment has been issued today, does anybody that has used the online tax return system know how long it will take from payment being issued to it clearing in my bank, what do they use BACS or CHAPS etc...? as its not very clear on the website just says my payment has been issued and an electronic payment will be sent shortly...

Thanks in advance :)

If your bank details were on your return, a couple of weeks.

If its not in within a month, hassle them.

yeah bank details were on it, so even though the payment has been issued it could still take a couple of weeks? jeez what payment system do they use lol

they have to check the validity of your information before they can release the funds

they use BACS

but as you'll have penalties and interest deducted they need to check the amount

I got given an amount at 1st then after penalty fee etc was given another figure which is the amount that they are now saying they have issued, surely for them to have issued the payment to me they must have already checked all my details as don't they would issue a payment then check details?

you'd think ........

go online and put in a request : take a screenshot of it

jedeyeknight · 11/03/2015 20:04

on the request a payment page it says my account is 100 in credit I spoke to them on the phone yesterday and they told me that, that 100 is the 100 the had deducted from my refund to cover the penalty and that I can not withdraw it, it would me a much better system if it was all automated like fill your details in submit then give you instant payout but no has to be sooooo long winded...
