Many have different specialities so it depends what you actually need - pensions, investments, protection?
These days they are very tightly regulated and the fees are very transparent so it's pretty easy to see what you are getting. Most of them will spend about 30 minutes talking to you to see what you need, this is usually free.
Where are you and what advice do you need?

VouchedFor and Unbiased are great for finding good brokers

We are in Sussex and I'm looking for advice about pensions or other retirement investments and protection (life insurance) as well as investment plans for the DCs (not that we'd be looking at much more than 10s of pounds there!)
