Desperate to remortgage, but CCJ's posing a problem!!

With interest rates looking to go up, I am desperate to get one of those fixed rate mortgages. The rate my bank is offering is too high.
I tried a broker nearly 2 years ago and they can't help because of some CCJ's I had 2/3 years ago.
Is there any mortgage company that take on people like me? I have never defaulted on my mortgage.

try the Barnsley Building society. I had the same trouble a while back. They tend to look at your mortgage payments first and then your credit score..

Thanks for that, but the Barnsley offer only 5 years fixed - that's too long, I want something like 2 yrs.

You need to find a good broker, there are ways around everything, wouldn't it be cheaper in the long run to sort the CCJ ?

Can I ask why you only want to fix for 2 years?

Creole · 24/10/2006 10:56

I want to fix for 2 years because I don't want to tie myself for longer than 2 years and also, I do want to move.

Yes, sorting out the CCJ is on my list of priorities but can't afford too at the mo.

Can you recommend any good broker?
