Self employed....mat leave....self assessment

I'm self employed.
I'll be completing my first self assessment in Jan 2016.

I will be on mat leave from July 2015 till at least Dec. I will earn some money during this time with KIT days.

When doing my self assessment will my mat leave be taken into account when calculating the payment in account for the next year?

My thinking is that because mat allowance is tax free and because I will be earning less, my payment in account should be less than it would be if based on my earnings for 14/15.

If anyone knows of a good link to help me out with this that'd be fab!
