Can anyone recommend one please? I can't seem to find any recommendations for this particular insurance on the Martin Lewis website. Thanks

Do you mean critical illness or life assurance?

Sorry, I meant critical illness insurance

If you are relatively young, non-smoker and in good health then they are all much of a muchness. Legal & General and Aviva are pretty competitive. I have personal experience of Zurich and would happily recommend them.

If you use a broker they will source the best policy to suit your personal circumstances. IFA will search wholes of market; restricted brokers will select from their panel only.

Ok thank you very much Sunseed!

L&G, Aviva, Scottish Provident, Standard Life, Zurich, yep they are all good.

I took a policy out with Standard Life and just about 2 months before expiry I was diagnosed with a blood cancer (most are classified as critical) and the life company paid out within 30 days, no quibbling, just on a medical report and letter from the consultant. They added interest too for that period.

The cover was for a high six-figure sum! So glad I took it out because it meant we could continue with our life plans.
