2 cars - shall I go for multiple cars insurance or keep 2 cars separate?

if my DH is owner of both policies - 1st car - 5 year ncb, 2nd car - 2 yesr NCB. If I put him on 1st car and myself on 2nd car - DH will have 5 year NCB and I will have 5 year NCB. What do you think is better please?
