JSA and Illness/operation

I've just been made redundant so I'm unfortunately back on JSA (which I hate for obvious reasons), thing is I'm due an operation that I really need to remove a mass from my inner ear, not too sure how long I'll need off until the pre assessment on Wednesday but how will the JC react to it?

I can't miss this operation, as I'm in a fair amount of pain and it's causing a massive amount of problems but I can't go without the money if they stop it if they think it'll stop me looking for work.

Any help would be appreciated.

You may need to transfer to ESA depending how long you will be unable to look for work. Do you have any idea if you're looking at days, weeks or months?
