Credit reference report......

im asking on behalf of a friend here, really before you all groan and go 'oh that old chesnut'

With credit reference report, would your partners financial details come up on YOUR report? Im asking as my friend suspects her DH may be in debt on the sly. I thought that only your details come up, because of the data protection act and all that.

nobody? surely one of you clever lot must know??!!

it says the name of your spouse if you are linked financially (mine was on there because of the mortgage), but thats about it.

No thier credit status wont be on there.

thanks ladies, im assuming then that a lender in that case would not discuss her partners credit details with her? ( she has applied for a credit card and the letter said that they were declining the offer and more or less suggested it was because she was financially linked to someone) other than getting him to apply for his own report, there isnt much chance of her getting to the bottom of it i assume?

Just small comment to add. My dh was bankrupt before we met. I started having problems with credit so sent away for report etc etc

When it came back I was advised to dis-associate myself from his as we had to joint loans etc. So I wrote a letter saying we had no joint accounts and please dis-associate me from him. It worked.
