Anyone know how many years worth of tax return docs you have to keep?

Longing to have a good clear out, but not sure how many years back I need to go. Anyone know for sure?

I think it's 6 years.

6 years past the end of the tax year just gone, so at the moment you'd need back to 2007/2008

6 plus current so rule of thumb is to keep 7

I tend to keep all of them because I'm a pedant
and I'm used to keeping client files for ages
