Help with car insurance

My insurance policy came up for renewal at the beginning of September, shopped around and found the best deal and my current insurer matched it great! Changed cars last week informed the insurer they adjusted the payments have looked online today and found that they are charging literally double what every other insurer is quoting!! And are flat out refusing to readjust the quote. Is there anything I can do eg leave etc as ATM feel as though I am being completely ripped off! As added information I have changed from a really chavvy sporty car to a really boring family estate!

Cancel the policy and go with a different company. Just check the terms and conditions to see if there any cancellation charges.

They want the full payment for the year

You're still entitled to cancel though. Just refuse to pay, say you want to cancel and take out a better quote.

They want full payment if you cancel? Wow!
No wonder they don't want to give you a cheaper quote.
Does the cancellation charge get lower the longer you are with them? could you stay with them for a few months and then afford to cancel?

I've been hit by huge cancellation charges too, once when a policy auto-renewed itself and I'd already gone elsewhere. It was about £50. I argued and fought and cursed but they swore that the work they had done cost that amount. Lying bastids.
