As in… until what age are you insured?

When we're 60.

Until I'm 57 and husband is 60 - when the mortgage will be paid off.

DH and I have separate policies that cover us till the kids are in their late 20s : so that nobody has to feel broke as well as bereaved.
After that we will see what we do as they should have left home by then.

We have decreasing term insurance to cover the remaining mortgage. Other than that, we are both currently covered through our jobs - we'll reconsider what we need once we retire, I suppose.

Funny, I just looked at ours today as had a funny feeling something ran out this year.
Our life insurances run out in 2028 when we are 61.
Our critical illness runs out in 2017. We shall never get it at that price again and actually, since the life insurance has terminal cover, I don't think I will look for it again.

On getting divorced 3 yrs ago I took out a 10 yr policy to cover inheritance tax (house in the southeast) so that the dc would not have to lose their home should I go under a bus. When it ends I'm not likely to try to renew as they will all be in their mid 20's and i will probably have downsized by then - i'll be mid 60s.

You can take out a policy whenever you like, for as long as you like, but the costs go up the older you are and the older you will be when it finishes.

When our mortgage ends, which is 63.
