I thought by dh had sorted out getting a credit card for holiday and turns out he hasn't...we fly on Saturday?! Is there anyway of getting one by then, we have never had one before?thanks

Sorry,think it's unlikely you'll have a card through by Sat. How about a prepaid card? You can pick one up at most travel agents,think PO does them as do Tesco if it has a currency shop...

no I dont think it is possible. Debit cards can be used abroad too

It's for a hire car, they state they only accept credit card visa. We only have debit visa. Do you this this would be ok? I am slightly panicking now.

Hmm will be for secure deposit incase of any damage I imagine...Id drop them an email an explain OP, they will have come across this situation before I'm sure ...

Sorry, but I almost had this problem a few years ago and found that all car hire firms insist on a credit card, and it has to be in the name of the driver. This was a few years ago, I hope things have changed for you but they were very strict about it then.
